Default OMG- This can't be right??...surely?

Hi Gang

A couple of days ago I asked/posted on here about banner ad networks. Kindly, Williamrs recommended Adperium Advertising Network - I went there to set up a dummy campaign to check it out....

...now, the minimum ad buy is $50, but get this, in one day that will get you 252,224 impressions for your banner....surely that can't be right can it? I mean, my Clickbank product converts ok but my problem is traffic. Even if it converted 2 sales out of 252,224 I would break even.

Am I missing something here? I'm really tempted to give it a bash for the hell of it, but before I blow yet another 50 bucks on something, I wanted to check if I have this right?? I mean, why don't people use this for list building rather than ppc or seo or whatever???????

Cheers
Phil

Don't have the positive experience (i.e. PROFIT!!!!) as Williams so won't disagree with his recommendation but this....

Quote:
  • North America (20%), Western Europe (20%) and upcoming markets (India, Latin America, China)
concerns me a bit. Or maybe I am a bit jaundiced with China traffic. Maybe your product will convert well there.

Yeah, you can pick by country which is cool. I guess I will only know by trying, just wondered if anybody had used this on any campaigns.

Thanks
Phil

I've wasted almost $200 using Adperium.

Also, it's not 252,224 impressions that matters, but click through rate.

That 252,224 impressions may equal to just 97 clicks and you won't make much if the conversion is 1:100

Actually, on the other thread I just told you that you could take a look on AdPerium if you were looking for a platform that works with banner advertising. However, I haven't used them a lot. I did promote some dating offers there and got decent results after some tests, but nothing astounding. However, I do think that they have good traffic and you just need to find the right offers to get good results.

Also, as another member said, don't get too excited just because of the impressions, because you also need to make sure that you get a good CTR (it was not a problem for me, but each campaign is different).

On their page (the one you linked to)

On the first page it says...

Our traffic / audience:
  • North America (20%), Western Europe (20%) and upcoming markets (India, Latin America, China)
  • Mostly male audience (75%), age 18-34
  • Tech-savvy, interested in gadgets and entertainment channels
This gives me about 15 ideas off the top of my head.

What does it inspire within you? :P

Have a good one,

David

I agree. Impressions, clicks, visitors all these traffic measures are very important but can be very deceiving.

Run of Site (ROS) and Run of Network (RON) are pretty much just leftover inventory of ad space and despite having many impresisons the traffic isnt good because either the ad space position is horrible or the traffic itself to the site is garbage.

Now I dont want to burst your bubble...I means I am a firm believer that one should try anything, but I just want to let you know that you cant just look at one metric because there are numerous levels and values of different types of traffic!

Wishing you luck buddy

I have never ran a banner ad campaign so I'm curious. Do you most commonly direct link the banner to the offer, or are you normally going to a landing page for a pre-sell?

Most interested in the dating niche if that changes your answer. My "gut feeling" says send it direct to the offer, but as we all know "gut feelings" can leave you with an empty wallet.

Hey Guys

Some GREAT feedback there. Yeah, I think this kind of thing works better for stuff that most people would be interested in, not specific niches. So probably dating, weight loss etc. However, David made a good point about the stated demographics and interests so maybe computer related stuff, and things like IPads and such would work better.

Hi Phil...or maybe even just a simple content gateway campaign with some good perceived value behind the gate targeted to the demographics!
