Default Ethics: Do YOU promote products that provide little to no value to your customers?

I have a hard time believing that any successful marketer promotes stuff like some of these payday loans, that literally aggrevate you to death once you sign up. I had someone sign up for a payday loan that contacted me today and told me that they have called at least two dozen times in two days (they meaning many different telemarketers) offering different things, saying stuff like:"I'm calling to give you more information on continuing education" or debt offers, when the individual clearly only wanted a payday loan.
I was wondering how many of you guys actually research an offer thorough enough to determine if it's fit to promote?
I just think it is something every marketer should do, maybe we can get rid of these horrible offers if we just don't promote them. I doubt that'll happen though

I never pick an offer when it's clearly a scam. However, I do admit that I don't use to do a lot of research about the offer before I start promoting it. I should, but I don't.

Sometimes, it can be hard to know how all the process works and we (I? ) end up focusing on the money that we can make and don't spend enough time researching the consequences for people on the other side.

This is a big issue with me as well. I was thinking about this just yesterday.

And that is how to stay credible and keep a clear conscious on what I promote.

My answer is to promote what I use and I know that works or do some research with credible sources (forums other marketers) to make sure what I promote does what it says.

I feel the web is getting smaller keep promoting junk and you run the risk as being labeled a junk peddler by a lot of people.

So true. Admittedly I had people sign up for offers in the beginning , of course I told my AM, but I thought alot of offers would be great but they turned out to be very poor offers. I'm not saying the payday advance in itself isn't a decent offer, but EVERYONE that signs up for this gets dozens of calls from OTHER marketers, which really is SPAMMING

The thing about CPA is that there are soo many different paths to take, so many different methods and traffic sources and strategies and people are making a bundle and not making anything in each one.

Adult entertainment guys make a fortune
Scammers make a fortume
Etc.

There are "successful" people doing everything.

There is a spectrum of ethics and it must be remembered that ethics is a perception and subjective. What you perceive as ethical, I may think is astronomically unethical and so on. There are "successful" marketers promoting the darkest and lightest of methods.

The only thing we can do is follow what we believe in. I live my life by two very simple concepts...

1. Work harder than my neighbor
2. Remember who I am

If you work harder than your neighbor in everything you do in life, you will be successful in the business sense. Work harder means putting in the time, working smart, etc.

The second prong is remembering who you are. This is where being successful in your personal life comes into play. Have integrity and always remember your core values and never let money, girls, guys, anything let you stray from it.

At the end of the day, work harder and remember who you are and you will be successful personally and professionaly.
