Default Commision for re-direction?

When someone goes to a link for a CPA offer such as an iPad offer which isn't available in their country and it re-directs them to another offer, do you still get the commision when they do that other offer or do you only get commision if they do the iPad offer.

You should get commissions with the other offer as well. The problem is that it almost never converts.

William is accurate regarding both comments, yes you get paid, and it's very tough to trigger conversions with a geo-redirect...The issue i've seen from this is depending on the network, they need to place a mass geo-redirect offer in place....so no matter what offer you're running, let's say a credit report.com offer, you'll get sent to an offer like Zwinky that's open to all countries...and that Zwinky offer will be in place no matter what offer you're running initially...I know we were trying to setup a system where publishers could set up their own geo-redirect but we were severly limited by Direct Track so if a network has their own platform perhaps they do allow publishers to set this up, i just don't think that's common but it's definitely worth asking about.

Best of Luck.

Yep...

just dont bank on making anything from the redirect. These are normally very general, untargeted and thus convert lower. Think about this...

you set up your sales funnel so people think they are getting an iPad. They are all amped up about it and when they click GET IPAD HERE they are taken to a page that says download a toolbar. You think they would be interested? Nope, even if they were interested they probably wouldnt fulfill out of spite!
