Will Google penalize 3+ way link exchange?

I have a few mini sites up and I am considering to do a link exchange program to improve ranking. This particular service I am considering is a part of the Traffic Kahuna service.

The program seems good as it has 3 and more ways of exchange. However I just recently watched some Stomper traffic getting videos and they say that Google will find out about 3 way link exchanges and will penalize it...

So what should I do? Do you guys have any experience with it? I am quite new to this stuff and good advice is greatly appreciated!

From personal experience, yes, they will penalize you. Not only will they penalize you, but they will likely de-index you.

I was a member of a service as well, and 2 of my sites were in very competitive niches. Both sites eventually ranked 1st on Google for my primary keyword (one related to credit cards, one health, both with over 20 million competing pages).

During the time these sites were ranked 1st on Google, my online earnings hit an enitrely different level. Unfortunately, both sites were de-indexed about a month or so after they started to rank 1st.

Now, cynics or owners/founders of said services will defend the service and say that the sites must have be de-indexed for another reason, but that is garbage. I have over 5 sites, created exactly like the 2 that were de-indexed, and the only difference is I used the service on the 2 that were de-indexed. The others are still doing well, not ranking as high, but still in Google's index.

I will personally stay away from linking scemes that require a linking page to be automatically filled. There is another service which builds 1 way links over time, and it doesn't require you to put anything on the site you're promoting. I have been using it for 2 months now and have been very happy with the results. The nice thing about this service is that it is basically impossible for Google to de-index you for using it, because there is really no way at all for them to know.

Anyway, that is my .02.
