Default Affliliate Link Cloaking Question

Hi,
I have been accepted in a CPA network, and my affiliate manager told me that I am not suppose to use any url shortners because they need to see who the referrer is

How do I hide my affiliate links now?

What type of marketing are you using to promote your offers?

A simple way of hiding your affiliate link is to buy a domain and then redirect to the offer if you are direct linking.

I.e. customer sees www dot yourdomain dot com when they click that they are redirected to the CPA offer via your referral link.

Hope this helps.

I am going to use some video marketing, but I am not sure if that is the solution, because my AM told me that she wants to see the traffic sources.

How do I do both, show the traffic source as well as hide the affiliate link.

Exactly as stated earlier, buy a domain and redirect, this will hide your aff link and allow the networks to see your traffic source.

You can brand your videos with your website and include in the description tag.

Good luck.

Your AM want to steal your campaigns? J/K. You can also use Prosper 202 to hide your links, its free.

That is a good question. With the CPA program you're in now...does the advertiser allow you to redirect a sub-domain pointing toward the affiliate link? If so, I was thinking that could be a way for you to legitimately cloak your affiliate link, by having a sub-domain on your domain name point toward it.

Wonder if they would allow you to use a url shortener that has Statistics built into it?

If they would do that you can try my site UrlSnub.com (*would require free membership to view statistics)

You can use Prosper202.

If you are worried about your campaigns getting compromised/stolen and you feel your domain/URLs are considered sensitive information tell your AM how you feel. Just be real transparent with how you are promoting the offer, where the traffic is coming from, etc.

We don't usually care if people show their referring URLs because there are so many other factors we can monitor to ensure the traffic is quality and not sketchy. If there is a problem, complaint, etc that comes up then we will press for domain information.

I guess what I am trying to say is your AM should work with you... If they don't want to work with you and you are not comfortable showing your referring URLs hop on another network.

Brian
