Default Question for those who use Direct CPV?

I have tried to get my answer from cust. service at Direct CPV but have not found their people very helpful so I thought certainly some warriors must know the answer.

Direct CPV has a bulk upload feature for URLS and Keywords which is a excel spreadsheet. I used a URL scraper and have about 20k urls to upload into the system.

Here's the problem. Example: The upload tool will only accept the (whatever site.com) part of the url.

In other words I need to delete the beginning of the url and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to cut this part out of 20k urls automatically without highlighting the entire url.

If anyone has ran across this, I would be more than greatfull for some help.
I have tried to figure this out in my own for hours now and figured I'd ask for some help.

Regards,

Redoak

put the full length domain name in the A1 cell
put this function in the b1 cell: =RIGHT(A1,LEN(A1)-4)
this will cut off the first 4 chars(the "www." part)
(if the a1 was www.123abc.com now the b1 will be 123abc.com)
select the b1 cell, double click on the selected cell's right lower corner, on the little black square

if there are http:// part just increase the number

hope this helps

Default Tweaking a CPV campaign

Hi everyone.

Hoping for some advice and or PMs. I can offer audio help and editing and lots of things in return.

So I just got accepted to some CPA networks at last. Super excited. Watched a webinar with Gauher Chaudry on Offervault which inspired me to try PPV.

Read some threads on here which inspired me to NOT try PPV just yet. LOL.

Anyway. I thought I'll give it a go since ultimately Gauher inspired me loads.

So I have an offer. Lets say its get a free xxxx. Enter your email 2 page basic CPA offer.

I go to google adwords tool. Type in "get a free xxxx". Find about 30,000 people a month search for 'get a free xxxx' or 'how to get a free xxxx'. So I think, cool. Here's my keywords. I had about 8 super targetted phrases. Im not allowed to use the word 'win' which would have doubled them. but thats still not many!

So I stick em into the Direct CPV keyword box. Chat to the help live chat guy. He says I don't have enough keywords.

I say, well if my offer, that is going to surprise them and pop up unexpectedly, offering them a free xxxx, actually pops up to these people - then surely, if I ONLY target people who are ALREADY searching about how to get a free xxxx, then I will be getting a really good conversion rate.

The ad agency gets paid just for the ad popping up rather than whether people do anything with the box that pops up so what difference to them, right?!

So anyway, the campaign runs, I get home all excited to see the results. I set a $15/day budget. I spent a total of.......

$0!! PPV bid was set between $0.015-$0.020.

I get online, chat with the guy. Asked why has my ad not shown up. He says I need more keywords. I say, I dont want any more keywords. LOL...

I say what can i do with this campaign as it is. without putting random keywords that i think will get a crap conversion rate. Like just 'xxxx' !!

So what do I do?? I don't want to increase the bid too much because then Im getting to break even point and obviously, Im not doing this to break even ;-)

Please can someone offer some advice?? Does increasing the bid help? Im already the no 1 bidder in Direct CPV for my keywords, but the guy there said that my bid ultimately is against bids from lots of other networks too...not just in direct cpv??

So I guess it MAY help increasing the bid... but if I have to put in other keywords, Id rather try another method of advertising where I CAN laser target it..

Yes I can try other offers, but I would love to hear some specific replies from people about this specific type of offer, if anyone would be so kind as to take the time.

Again, Im more than happy to skillshare if anyone needs audio help - or PM me I can do bits of design, articles, etc.

Id love to move forwards with PPV and thought this was rockin!!! DOH!!!

Hope to hear from you and thanks for any replies in advance! Sorry this is so long!

Clare :-)

Either excel and use a formula, or use notepad/wordpad with a search and replace..
20k is a huge list of urls for a campaign.. be sure you know what you are doing before just throwing those in there..

Notepad would do the job, but it's definitely gonna freeze your computer if you do it at once. Try to pull 5K each and use the replace as suggested by others.

I agree with Chris. You are throwing in 20K of keywords, and I am not sure what your budget is, but I bet only few hundreds or 1,000 of them (if you are lucky) will really get traffic. It's better to keep the targeted keywords only and save all the hassle.
