How can you maximize the amount of traffic generated by 1000 articles as you publish them??

I would definitely have to disagree. One article is not going to drive MASSIVE amounts of quality traffic, especially from Ezine on it's own. You may get a trickle here and there, but nothing significant.

Without doing proper keyword research and optimizing your article the right way, you might as well not expect much good results at all. Research your market and other articles/forums in your market before going out and writing/submitting 50 articles per day.

I love marketing via ezine articles, as it can be very effective especially in bulk. After I got my first hundred articles up there I started to really see a benefit, but once I got to two and three hundred I had tested and looked at what was getting the most clicks and I tried to replicate what works best for converting clicks.

One thing I did notice things that I had the most information on or knew the most about always lead to more clicks, but maybe that is common sense.
