Default Rate My Squeeze Page Please

I have just setup my first site where I am using a squeeze page to capture emails, then I have a one time offer page after the user confirms their opt in and then a download page where they can get their free gift.

I'm wondering if a few people could test it out for me? Also, how do I keep my download page secure so people have to sign up for my list in order to get the download? Could someone just search my site in google and it would show all the indexed pages? Then they could just go to the download page right?

Here is my site: Home Business Center Online | 100% Free Download

Thanks and I look forward to your comments.

You need to "disallow" your download page in your robots.txt file.

Your header "Breakthrough! Use This FREE Step-by-Step System To Produce One Bank-Breaking Web Site After Another, With Ease . . ." is rather difficult to read - seems the read fonts are too thick and they are rather difficult on the eyes... mine at least Just a copywriter's 2cent pov

I like it a lot... I bet a video would help it convert better also and a different colour button, but I'm sure you'll split test over time anyway.

With regards to the download link, nofollow that page and make sure people can only access it once they confirm their email address, once they confirm they get sent through to that page. Maybe make the URL for that download page something someone may not remember easily so they can't just send it to their friends.

Is this correct for my robots.txt file:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /download/

My ebook that I'm giving away is in that directory.

Thanks,

Nice, I password protect the directory where the pdf sits and put the password in the first email. Too many snoopers can find it easily without entering their info.

What is best way to password protect the directory? I'm on dream host by the way with this one.

Also, for my follow up emails, I'm going to use an ebook with 10 steps to making money online. Should I send one per week or two per week? Wondering how much is too much. Each tip is about a page long.

I'm also wondering if I should put these tips up on my website and just link to them in the email. Maybe give the first paragraph of each tip and then see read more here. Just thought this might work better since they are so long.

What do you guys think?

Hello Bruha,

1) Add this meta tag to your squeeze page:
<html>
<head>
<title>...</title>
<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW">
</head>

2) Dream Host has a "Passworded Directories" feature. Check with support on how to enable a password for the directory of your PDF.

3) You're right about posting tips on your website/blog. Create a self-hosted wordpress blog at homebusinesscenteronline.com/blog .. Post all the tips there and send traffic from your followups. This way, your followups can be short, simple and entice the reader to click the link to your full blog post.

4) If you're planning a 10 day 10 tips course, send one follow up each day. Monitor your analytics and decide the frequency after that.

5) Add a PRIVACY statement below the optin box. Mix some of these examples and rewrite them to suit your product.
"Your information is 100% confidential"
"We respect YOUR email privacy and hate spam with a passion".
"We will NOT rent, trade, or release your information to any third party for any reason - ever."

6) Submit Button: Instead of "Submit", try something like:
"Get Free Instant Access"
"Show Me The Money"
"Download My FREE Report"

Hope this helps!

All the best,

Thanks Swarup. those were great tips. I appreciate your help. Do you think offering an email per day for 10 days is good? Or should I spread them out to every 3 days or even 1-2 per week?

By the way thanks for the tip.

Anyway, are these terms are the same:

Like squeeze page, lead capture, optin page, landing page?

Kind a bit confuse...

What you think? are they the same term?

@Bruha You're welcome. Wish you all the best! .. Depends on the niche. In the internet marketing niche I see that most people send daily emails. The content would be a mix of free information, news, quick tips and offers. Try sending an email everyday and monitor your "Click Tracking" and "Unsubscribers". Improvise based on how you list responds. You subscribers are your friends. The more comfortable they are with you, the better your responses get.

@mtmjohn Hey John, glad I could help you. Good luck and hope you have lots of success.

@bradlean Hey Brad, great question. I'd be happy to answer that for you:

You're right. Squeeze Page, Lead Capture Page and Opt-in Page are the same thing. The single most important objective or call-to-action for a visitor who arrives is to give his/her name and email in exchange for something really valuable. That's why they are normally very minimalistic and focus on a singular objective.

Landing Page: This is a page where a visitor arrives, reads information, and if interested clicks the call-to-action which forwards to the sales page. It may or may not have a web form to collect opt-ins. In some cases it is also called a Sandwich Page. Lol . A page that is sandwiched between the advertisement and the sales page. Hope this helps. All the best!

@Scientific Which squeeze page are you referring to?

Also, wondering if anyone has thoughts on the best ways to promote these types of sites without a huge ppc budget. Does article marketing work?

Your blog has all its text in bold on the left. This makes it all the same and prevents any use of bold for emphasis; your original squeeze page uses bold text much more effectively.
On the Right side you have your 10 tips red text on Black...making it difficult to read.
But all in all, quite good

Great job on your squeeze page.

You might consider replacing the ebook covers with up and down arrows pointing to the opt-in. Similar to what I've done on iGolfvideos - Golf Swing Videos

This helps keep your prospects focus on your optin - and nothing else.

The secret behind a good squeeze page is "more is less".

Where would be the best source of traffic to this page? Right now I'm running some ads on msn adcenter, but only a couple subscribers.

Would article marketing be good as well? I think ranking in the SERP's for this type of site would be difficult.

Your page needs some serious working on to convert in captures. Starting with the All red Title...Red is fine to grab attention but All red is too much for the eye and mind to adapt quickly and have the reader stick to your text without them making a trip to the fridge.

Ever wonder why there is so many Reds inside a McDonalds? You need a combination of colors that emphasize certain parts of your Title. In your case, Red and Blue is a good start since your e-book and opt-in form have the blues. Use blue to emphasize certain lines of your title.

Also, people read from left to right and down, your capture form is wrongly placed! The right side is rarely a Hot Spot. You are giving readers the task of scrolling back up to submit. You'll lose quite a few right there.

Take care,

The blog is nice, simple, but it could work. On your capture page I'd make the font in the title more legible. It also took me about two read-overs to get what you were saying after first glance. It's all about testing, my friend. So make sure you are ready to do some tweaking on your traffic methods as well.

Anyone use 7search to send traffic to their squeeze pages? Just wondering if that traffic is worth anything.

Any other ppc options work well for these types of pages?

Most likely yes.

But I think there a bigger things to deal with. When you drive more traffic, here are some things you may come across . Here is the honest truth.

Even though the page looks OK the copy is not that strong. It's a good start, however you need to do some more work.

Remember, you are building a relationship with a list.

The way things are now, you are most likely going to attract "snoopers".

Why?

Because there isn't anything about you and why they should listen to you.

Your site isn't going to be the only one they will research. So you need more credibility that you've got right now.

As Bernard mentioned, you may find it beneficial to place another sign up form at the bottom.

The password for the free ebook is an overkill, in my humble opinion. Plus, in some browsers there will be issues with displaying it.

It's better to have a thank you page and let people download from there.

You want the material in your book to sell you, so that even if someone got it as a gift they would still want more of your stuff.

Correct me if I'm wrong but your blog doesn't quickly answer "Who are you?Why should I listen to you?"

It seems most of the people will be coming to your site "cold". That means more work for you when they get there.

Your ebook is also too generic. "Create a report to sell" will have most people immediately click away. Again, why?

Because you haven't yet sold them on the idea of listening to you in the first place.

You have a good start, keep improving it.

Oh and this line in your welcome message does more harm than good "Just reading this ebook wont make you money."

It takes away the magic pill way too early.

Not bad at all, not perfect either, but what is perfect!

maybe less content, more call to action, more to the point.
people don't use to read a lot.

Very nice squeeze page (I wish mine looked that nice!).

However, when I got to the OTO page, I clicked the No Thanks link and was asked for a password. Oops.

ETA: And then, I got the email with the password. Not standard, and I have a feeling you may lose a few people who get confused about needing a password they don't have. I put my downloads on a completely different domain for security, in a folder that has a randomly generated hashtag for a directory name. You can get them online (free) here (not an affiliate link).

Hey, i like the page as well but i think that you should put a video that will help to increase the conversion rate.
