i need clarification

would it be considered black hat (which i do NOT want to do) to create a facebook fan page and get a large amount of fans, (for example orbit gum) and then post a link to an offer about orbit!?

i am not sure if it has been done, me being new to this and all...but i was just brainstorming and it came through my head.

If they are targeted fans, I don't see why not. Plus, if you maintained the fan page, and keep giving value to the fans, I don't think it's black hat...

i don't think that facebook will let you do this for a long time. so be careful of being banned by FB. otherwise its OK

Are you planning on making a page that actually looks like Orbit owns and operates it? If we're talking about the gum company, they already have a large FB following, something around 850,000 fans or something like that so the only thing i would be worried about besides the other issues everyone else brought up is if Orbits finds you using their name, logo, ETC...
