Ive been reading these forums for about 1 month now. I have to say there is much great information here. However I wanted to come on here and say. You MUST get out and meet people, Especially in this CPA industry!

I had such a hard time getting approved for any CPA network over the phone and net. I went to the Affiliate Summit in Vegas and all of a sudden I am approved for 4 networks on the spot, and I have cards for affiliate managers asking me to join with them as well. All they want to see if that you actually exist.

I can't stress this enough, you must make a Human connection with these people SUPER Important.

It was 3 days of talking and meeting people Newbie and Advanced people,

Some worthwhile conversations are:

1. Told me CPV to CPA worked great for them and 100% of their business is done this way.

2. Another guy told me PPC to Adsense (not recommended) he makes a lot of money but not a sustainable business model.

3. I also met and hung out with some CPA network owners (which was worth the trip in itself).

Simply too much to mention here, also I don't consider this lucky since I had to go out of my comfort zone to talk and meet these people as well as pay to get there etc.

I believe you could join the best affiliates in the industry. What was your experience when you met some one of the winners in the CPA network.I am planning to attend the next affiliate submit.

When I met him, he took me outside the show, sat down with me and shared something with me that can create wealth in itself (nothing to do with Cpa). He then introduced me to some real top player friends of his.

Simply amazing stuff, All this because I decided to just show up and having the small courage to speak up and introduce myself.

Note: I also found out that simply asking your affiliate manager what is converting well should get you far in this game, believe it or not THEY WILL TELL YOU WHATS MAKING MONEY!

Affiliate Summit is a must if you're serious about this business. It will really change you perspective on the whole industry if you've never been.

We had a booth, threw a 400 person party at the Spearmint Rhino all to give back to our affiliates.

The real benefit is meeting and hanging out with other people in the business. Building those relationships which just can't be done as well online.

I think the summit is twice a year,

Once in Vegas (just passed) and once in New York (Affiliate Summit East 2011 is taking place August 21-23, 2011 in New York City.)

Hi Matt,

It'll be a long-haul flight from where I live - Malaysia. 22 hours is an awfully long journey. Expenses will be about $7k all inclusive per pax for 10 days.

Putting that into consideration, I'll have to make the trip as productive as possible. This would include a 1 day stop-over in Paris to meet some biz associates. Thus it cannot be on a weekend. Schedule multiple meetings ahead of the Summit. Meet-up some associates in NY after the Summit.

Must prepare a good itinerary.

Affiliate Summit is the best way for those people who wants to be a successful affiliate. Then New York summit will be the best opportunity for people who are really interested about affiliate marketing.

Make sure you go with a plan, who you want to meet, what you want to get out of it, usually they put out the agenda before you attend. You can plan out what you want before you even show up.

This is exactly what I had in mind. I wanted to meet people from the CPA networks and also meet some traffic sources such as advertise.com and advertising.com. That's exactly what i did. On the first day I met with MANY affiliate managers and 2 CPA network owners.

On the 2nd day I met someone from Advertising.com and Advertise.com to set up accounts and talk about what's the best way people are using them etc.

This was super productive for me especially since I had a to leave the 2nd day of the show.

I think they are $250, but I had to pay $500 since they were sold out. I walked up the day of the show and had to pay double to get in.

Your earlier tips are noted.

I had platinum tickets from 2 CPA Networks & a CPS Network for the recent Summit. But I couldn't attend. Had to fulfill a contracted job for a training provider.

And you have to pay $500 ?!! You must be dead serious. I hope you will succeed in leaps and bounds.
