Default Accepted by CPA, now STUCK between action and reaction.

Thanks gotti3636 for helping me get over the, "What do I do now that I'm accepted to CPA" hurdle with these answers below:

1. A domain is not necessary, it is optional. It will be easier and cheaper if you use a URL shortener instead.

2. It does not need to be private but that is up to you.

3. Once you buy the domain you simply need to set up a redirect (you can ask godaddy support how to do this if you are unsure).

4/5. You will be using your CPA offer link as the redirect link on your domain and then use the domain link on your flyer. This means that people will go to your domain and then will be sent directly to the CPA offer.

Are you referring to offline to online cpa marketing?

Default SOS! Need HELP with URL shortener for CPA online & offline.

I was accepted by MaxBounty and am doing CPA online and offline. This is my FIRST venture into something like this.

I want to promote several different campaigns, so it is best to use a URL shortener for each one, right?

If, I am on the right track, I went to bit.ly and put my tracking code into the URL shortener, and it gave me a tiny link, BUT when I click on the link to test it out, this is what it takes me to a MaxBounty error page that reads:
We're sorry, but we are unable to process your request because the link you have used is invalid.

What am I doing wrong?

Many thanks for the much appreciated direction!

A domain isn't necessary but is highly recommended if you have capital to spend. You can use subdomains so you only need to purchase one, but for a few bucks, why not have your own web property!

The necessity of having a domain will vary by the specific method you are pursuing though!

Does it need to be private? Again it depends on what you are doing. If you are doing something sketchy, then you may want to make it private. If not, then you may just want to use a PO box so nobody knows your home address. Other people just make up registration info but of course that's against the rules!

You can do a redirect through a lot of the control panels (like GoDaddy) or you can upload a short redirect script to your default page and it will do the same thing. Again there are a few different ways to redirect, and the optimal one will be based on what you are exactly doing.

For flyers, you can do that. If the CPA network is okay with offline traffic, then that is okay. If they don't like offline traffic, you may have to put some content on your domain and turn it into a landing page

Ken

I've read stories about people promoting CPA offers using offline method. The best thing is, ask your affiliate managers about that.

btw, I found this thread that pertains to offline cpa marketing

Thank you, Ken.

Re: A domain isn't necessary but is highly recommended if you have capital to spend. You can use subdomains...

Q: Am I using a subdomain for each category or each campaign? Let's say I am trying to collect email submits for two related campaigns. One is a free year of dog food and the 2nd is pet insurance. Would both campaigns go to cre8gr8thing.website/pets or do I divvy into two subdomains /dogfood and /petinsurance?

I have more questions, especially about "short redirect script", but I will start with the subdomain question first. I purchased a domain and am slowly progressing to hopefully be up and running by Tuesday.

Most offline marketing and calling customers is prohibited in many CPA networks. It depends on the network itself though, as it varies from company to company.

I should build an e-commerce site that only sells waffles. And maybe pancakes.

Thanks waffle_pancakes. I've read if attempting offline marketing, it's best to speak with AM first and present flyer for approval to see if it is acceptable BEFORE attempting.

It depends how you are promoting and how much you want to invest. In general, if the domain is visible to the user, then there is more perceived credibility in a full domain as opposed to a subdomain. But, unless you are pushing a lot of traffic, it probably won't affect you too much if you just stick with subdomains.

You will need a different sub domain for each campaign because you want to promote different offers to each. For example...

dogfood.yourdomain.com can promote a dogfood offer
petinsurance.yourdomain.com can promote an insurance offer

You say you are trying to collect email submits...I'm not sure what that means. If you are trying to collect email addresses through a squeeze page then it's important to create different subdomains so you can create different lists for each niche you are doing.

Not sure exactly what you were asking, but if I didnt answer your question, just reply back here and I will check it out!
