I sincerely hope i'm not "outing" a fellow warriors ad campaign here... But tonight I was adding content to one of my fan pages I noticed an ad that got my attention. It got my attention not because I was interested in the topic, it caught my attention because I am a marketer. It stood out to me as being done very professionally, and I wanted to save myself a snapshot of this ad because I loved the call to action. Often when we are building a fb campaign we are mostly consumed in the targeting and ad copy testing with multiple images, we overlook the viral effects of facebook's ad platform. People can "like" your ad copy itself, no other ad platform offers that. When its showing people the ad and bringing along testimonials with it, it can be very powerful and accelerate its performance. i decided if it was worth saving as a note for myself, it may be helpful to some fellow warriors too! so enough chatter... what I wanted to show you is what a nice job this ad does of ASKING THE VIEWER TO "LIKE" THE AD |

Great tip. I'm just getting into FB advertising and dabbling a bit while I learn, so all this is helpful. Thanks!

Hey guys! Yep, that's a very very powerful technique. But the trick is that people can only LIKE your ad if you're promoting your Facebook page and not any website / link. So by liking your ad, they immediately "like" your Facebook page. Which makes this even more powerful. For maximum effect (at least in my testing) it's best that you only focus on that like in your call to action. I wrote about that tactic a while ago here on WF in this thread: This is what I posted: How increase the number of fans in facebook Quote:

I like the copy, but the image needs to be tested. I doubt that image works well on Facebook. Pictures of smiling females outperform consistently for any niche. And yes the Like function is key. If you are really good, you have a landing page as default tab instead of your wall. Then you offer a freebie to get email. Double whammy.

Yeah, the trick is to get them to Like the Facebook page itself. From there you should be able to direct them to your site.
