Peer-to-Peer (file sharing) websites have been around since the beginning of the internet. In fact, the internet was first created to share files. Porn, Movies, Music, you name it, if it can be reduced to a file, people will want to share. Now, I'm not talking about content gateways or content locking here. This is about my favorite, banner ads. So let's do our 5 W's: Who are they: Mostly males, but female traffic is significant. What do they want: Free porn, movies, music, etc. Where are they now: Top 15 Most Popular Torrent Websites How do they get there: Search, and other BT websites Why are they there: Entertainment ----------------- What should you advertise: Low involvement offers such as: Gaming, Freebies, IQ test, etc, Spend some time an look what's already being advertised. Write down the types of offers being presented. (You don't see a lot of "branding" offers on these sites, can you guess why?) Advertise the same type of offers, but different companies, games, products, etc. Adbrite and Adperium own a lot of webspace on many of these sites. And they have dirt cheap CPM campains. Good hunting! |

Have you personally made $$$ advertising on those kinds of sites? It amazes me that people actually click on those banners.

Banner/Text advertising is not without it's own unique challenges. Capturing the viewers attention, crafting an intriguing appeal, but most important (and I'm not saying this as well as I should) you advert needs to match the intention, or reason why the viewer is visiting the page you place your ad. If they are on that page for entertainment, offer even more distraction. If they're there for information, offer more information. Ask yourself, why are they here, and put up offers that go along with that reason why. Yes, I and many others make $ from banner advertising. |

Tons of traffic there and if you wonder what works, just do some spying on the sites listed in adbrite with the most traffic.
