Ok, anyone who has a blog usualy gets spam comments, I was wondering though is it legit to use the comments email to build a list from? Yes I know that 99% is probably just plain ole spammers, but do you think that's legit? |

A comment form isn't an opt-in form, and I find it unethical to use a commentors e-mail which should be kept private, spammer or not! ![]() Take care, Bernard St-Pierre Marketing Consultant Copywriter/Teacher | |

Yea definitely no good. Even if the comments came from an actual human and not spam, the most effective way to get a QUALITY lead is for them to opt-in on their own. Unsolicited emails are almost never welcome.

I agree it's not ethical but I wanted to run a one time experiment and thought this would be an easy way to do it . But you guys are right, there are better ways to do that

Nope, not legit, not legit it all. Unless you want to get back at spammers by spamming them at email addresses they will never check, anyway.
