I have no idea what percentage of warriors active in this section receive this network newsletter, but when I read it, I knew the information would appeal to any Internet Marketer- so I decided to share what I just read. Viral marketing while unpredictable; can be highly lucrative. An idea will only catch on if people like it and a marketing message, only if people believe it. One of the key factors that will allow you to achieve massive success with viral marketing is focusing on making your campaign engaging and fun. Search online for comedy or funny videos on YouTube and take a look at the number of views they have. Fun and humor always seem to play an important role. If you can capture people's attention and make them laugh or cry, you are on the right track. You must give your users a strong reason to spread the word around about your campaign. People will want to naturally share when their emotions are invoked in some meaningful way. You can easily compel people to quick action when you create enough of an impression on them. This holds true no matter what market you are in. SHOW NOW, TELL LATER You can create a buzz about your website or business that approaches viral, and there is no better way to do that than by going out of your way to care about your users or customers. They may have heard a billion times how special they are (although never underestimate the power of doing so), but they probably have been shown far fewer times. When you show instead of tell, people tend to be more responsive to take action and tell others. The more you help your targeted market, the more they will help you in your viral marketing efforts. As with any other marketing it is still a give and take process. Just like you would come to expect from others, your users should always feel appreciated and confident you will deliver on your promises. CREATIVE GENES If you are selling a product on your site remember just stating something is better than the rest does not necessarily give you advantage over your competition. After all, people are smart and obviously aware that you have control over the language of your website. People are looking for innovation, creativity, and things that appear to be exciting and new; even when it may not be. With viral marketing campaigns, its important to avoid sales driven messaging. Instead, write creative copy that will grab the attention of others and do not forget to include a link to your website if the content is not already being promoted directly on it. CLUB LONER Nobody wants to see more of the same thing. Your main goal should always be to stand out in the crowd. Add value to your offers by incentivizing your site. If you are running our gateways remember only virtual incentives are allowed here, which can be a very powerful option that many of our publishers have seen outstanding success with. Above all, stay on top of your competition. You will never do it better if you do not know what they are doing and how they are doing it. Find out what message your competitors are sending and differentiate yourself with a stronger message, more strategic campaign and overall better offering. Quick tip: Avoid services that promise to make your campaign viral for a fee. No one can forsee what others will cling to or what will be the next big thing. TRENDY TRAIN Be aware of the recent trends in the market. Dont forget to check Twitter trends or any social media platforms hot daily topics. Add to your daily reading list with a market trusted and well followed social media site in the know such as Mashable. While it is very important as we mentioned to stand out from the crowd do not be afraid to engage with others to grab the attention of those who have helped make other campaigns such a success. Whether it is chatter about who Justin Bieber is kissing or Kim Kardashians derričre, these people are typically on top of what is hot right now and should not be ignored when looking to expand traffic to your viral campaigns. GOING POSTAL Email marketing is another great option to further increase your odds of going viral. If you are promoting your campaign via YouTube, you can provide a link directly to your opt-in email list. Make it worth their while and offer great deals or links to hot offers just for sharing your video. Again, as mentioned before, be sure to deliver on your promise and provide the user with two or three of your best offers; whether its a discount on a great product you are promoting or a link to submit and win new hot products. You will now have the opportunity to put your offers right in front of every viewer twice; after email opt-in and through the link to your site where you are either running an incentive gateway or individual offers. Not everyone will follow the link to your site, however you will greatly increase the odds of them arriving there if you give your users options that they have control over. STAY CONSISTENT The attempt to go viral with any campaign can and will quickly flat-line, without proper management. We all know consistency is the key to any effective marketing campaign. You will need to stay on top of every single message you put out there and do so often. Prepare to make this part of your daily routine, and invest your time as you would invest your money into any online advertising project. Whether you are new or a veteran to viral marketing, remember that only what you put into it will really matter allowing the fruits of your labor to shine through. The more you manage all aspects of your online marketing, from tweeting, social media status updates, to feeds and daily blog posts, your message can only have the chance to be huge if you are putting it out there on a regular basis. It is also important not to plaster your social media accounts with sales copy and annoying sales pitches. REFLECT Take time to ask yourself a few questions first. What would interest me? What would I want to share with my friends, family or co-workers? What would I encourage others to take a look at?
