Hi there marketers! My Name is Chris and i have aquestion for the more advanced guys here. I´m starting absolutely from scratch and am trying to make my way up to the top. (like most of the guys here i guess =)) Ok here comes my case: I am a german dating coach and i am writing a book which i want to sell over the internet. I used the google keyword tool to find relevant keywords for the topic "how to seduce women" it showed me some keywords with pretty high search rates (up to 40.000 searches a month) which i extracted to godaddy.com and checked if some of the long tailed ones were free as a domain name. The search option didn´t show me the answers i needed when i typed in "how to choose a good domain name" And now my question for you: Can i just take the term with the most monthly searches and make a domain out of it to rank first on google, or am i totally wrong on this? and further: What must i take care of especially when choosing my domain name? I am totally new to most of this, i literally sucked many programs like ewen chia´s or eben pagan´s courses up into my brain, but i have basically no practical experience in all of this. I´m going to try my best to learn and use all this and i´ll be sharing my way with this great community, but first i need your help to get startet. Thank you very much in advance, onward, to glory! =) Chris |

Hi Chris, if you take the search term with the most monthly searches, you'll probably find it's gone. You are right, the exact match domain names are a real shortcut to top rankings, but very few are left "in the wild" If you can not find your ideal domain, and you will need deep pockets if you do, try your closest match. Keep your keywords together, and at the front, like howtoseducewomeneasy.com, but that's a very long domain, and not an attractive click. Your ideal domain would be aged, by at least 1 yaer, but the older the better, and preferrably under 11 characters, including the "com" I see you are a German dating coach, it may be easier to break into the German market, have some success, then launch yourself into the global market as "top selling German coach" this would also give you more time to find your ideal domain. If you deviate away from your chosen keywords in your domain, ranking is still possible, but your SEO must be better than everyone else, and it's a tough market you have chosen. Good luck on your journey, Pete |

With domains, the search engines place more trust in aged domains, so the older, the better! To find the age is pretty simple, and there are many sites that have bots to tell domain ages, like this one; Domain Age Check Tool - SEOLogs.com Here are the results for our very own, Warriorforum, Results for warriorforum.com : Domain Created on: April 18 2001 Domain age (approximately): 9 Years, 10 Months, 15 days. The 11 character rule of mine comes from a great source, but 11 letter domains are few and far between, just keep it as short as possible. Weight is given for how memorable a domain is, so always bear in mind that shorter is usually easier to remember. The thankyou button is the "thanks" icon at the bottom of each post. To your success, Pete |
