Sure there are lots of guys selling good stuff. I like Frank Kern, Jeff Walker, John Reese. Anyone getting started out should get Reese's traffic secrets. Its gives a good overview of IM. Reese said several things that made a big impact on me. One that is key is that you should think of IM as building a business and an asset and not just a tactic to make money.
In other words you should work to build some sort of asset that you could one day sell like a real business. That could be a site or an email list.

Also those that succeed simply do a little more than everyone else and provide a little more for their customers.

Matt Trainer put together a good guide to using google and ppc. I don't know where to get it on the internet, but I can send you my copy of it. Just send me a private message with your email address and I'll email it to you.

I've been running a successful subscription website for 10 years. Find out the tactics I've used to grow my online business, rank on search engines, connect with customers for free at my blog and newsletter, nothing to sell there and no affiliate links - http://marketingmoneyonline.com

Hey tradermike2008, I can totally feel you on that. I see so many post putting emphasis on getting approved to CPA networks with no website (which can be done) but a good niche content site is always a valuable asset to have.

Those names you mentioned indeed have a lot in common and are all so different. And none of them are the "hit it and quit it" type. I like that.

and what you say about doing a little more for your customers....that is, and will always be my U.S.P. (unique selling position)

The IM guru circle cross-promoting each other's stuff reminds me of a Playboy cartoon where a bunch of scout boys are sitting around a campfire each with his hand in the pocket of the guy sitting to the right of him ... cross promoting the next guy's stuff.

After my experience with Mike Filsaime's magazine (had to get a new Amex to stop withdrawals even after confirmed cancellation), I've unsubscribed from most of these guys. They simply use the old DM concentric sucker circles to milk money from gullible newbies looking for the magic formula for riches. Get real.

Far better sources of "tried-and-true" information you can find on internetretailer.com (and attend their conferences) -- these are REAL guys running REAL $5-20M businesses not just another launch of crazy-name ****product. Look at Amazon and study how Jeff is making $14.8 billion a year by serving customers, not by "moneysucking" them with another crappy launch for the greedy newbies.

IM may be like religion, you gotta learn to spot the snake-oil salesmen, the false prophets, from the real guys building real multi-million dollar businesses.

Aymen, ain't it.

It's not needlessly if its true.

Sucking peoples money and making unfullfilled promises, bait and switch tactics, wasting peoples time and money is "needlessly".

If you advertise something, make sure your claims match your product.

Maybe even exceed claims...its called overdeliver, simple, marketing 101.

Is that right? Good to know. They are not promoting it..I just dug it up.

Has anyone ever used a PPC Service (one that creates and manages your campaigns for you) with any success?

I am sure large companies with unlimited bankrolls do it all the time.

So...it finally makes some sense.

They mentioned on the call today that "the more complex they make things, the more people request refunds".

And that is why the are catering so hard to noobs. And why the material is so painfully bad.

Kind of a strange approach if in fact they are trying to train affiliates. It would be much more advantageous to cater to people who knew a bit about what they were doing since those folks would likely turn into more powerful earners quicker.

Getting the impression that they're going to dumb down the rest of the material as well, including the business structure and management which is the only thing I was holding out for.

Sounds like Aymen listened too much to the d-bag guru buddies of his as I'm sure they told him "target the new people, they really respond to 'make a bazillion in a week' ad copy" since that's what they all use.

They were talking about match types today for crying out loud.

Disappointing since I know for a fact that these guys are doing just unreal numbers and have a lot of good knowledge that will likely not come out in this course.

Also hope Guaher Chaudhry takes a cue from this product and overdelivers with PPCF 2 on things that really help you to kick ass on the scale side.

In connection with some of the posts here about decent internet marketers, I'm sure some of you know of Ken Macarthy (sp?) of the System Seminar?

That's also where many other successful IM'ers learnt from.

It's held every year, I think it's there 16th year this year.

I used a company called Reach Local to promote my podiatry practice when I was very new and green to IM.
He did a good job, and it was that action that convinced me that IM is here to stay.

Have you guys actually heard Gauher's whole presentation from The System?

It's even more general than the AC course.

He charges $695 for his course and someone posted in the thread titled, whats the best ppc course, that this guy and Perrys stuff is good.

So far , consensus has the only hands down course, especially for beginners/newbs is Perry Marshalls course.

The others:

Gauhers stuff

Doubledigit ctr

cash tactics

ppc classroom

Luke's stuff

Looks like the way to go is Perry for basic, sound foundation and understanding, workable, get you feet wet stuff for beginners.

Get some stuff goin with Perrys material, make some money, then buy this other stuff.

All the others seem to expand to different strategies and more advanced application.

But even so, you still don't want to get burned at $695-$2000 for stuff just above basic application.

I hope you are right. Judging by his obvious disapproval of Aymen using "his" Alexa strategy, I say Gauher is pissed without really saying so. He may just give up the gravy.

Maybe its all a plot. Arbitrage watering things down so all the intermediates refund JUST in time for PPC FORMULA II. They have each other's number, we know that much. AHA!

Anything goes in this world, you just never know......I actually just thought of the second part of this as I was typing in the first part....

LOL.....

Here's another guy just can't get a definitive read on.

Either he is a secret no one wants to let out or its nothing all that special.

Seen several threads here asking whats the deal with Ken, and most get a luke warm response, something like, "oh yeah, he's ok, too" type responses, or " good solid info", but not too excited about it.

Never hear anyone going all out in defense or to war about this guy, from seasoned vets to newbs.

I've heard some of the calls on this and I think that the answer to your question is truly two fold.......one.....that there is enough to go around so it's not going to hurt to share. Two...they are building their own CPA in the future so if they can teach people how to do it they are making ready made successful affiiliates for their own network. Brilliant actually.
