Default Offline CPA- Flyers Or Business Cards

Has anyone tested the results of using flyers vs business cards for offline marketing? My nephew will be testing some cpa offers and told me that he thought people might more readily take a business card than a flyer as it's more compact. He also knows someone that works at a flea market who can put some on a table.

Flyers with cpa offers definitely work in universities and other schools! If you aim properly at students. I haven't tested them elsewhere though

i think Business card is better. most of the people are using these and getting profits. so i think they don't need any other methods. for me business cards fulfill all of my requirements so why should i go for others?

My nephew is a student and said he thinks it's easier for putting business cards with a cpa offer on various tables but that also students are always holding things and might just grab a card rather than have to deal with folding up a flyer and sticking in back pocket. It looks like people use both methods.

I also think business cards could be more personal. People tend to throw flyers away after reading them.

I could see advantages to flyers if they have a tear strip for bulletin boards but those tear strips are easy to lose. I know if I was holding a cell phone and backpack I'd sooner pick up a business card than a flyer. It seems like it also depends on the setting and where they will be placed- ie car windows work well with business cards. Flyers maybe are better if a visual is needed.

Flyers outside Malls and parking work great. I have seen people earning hundreds of dollars with this.

I have done a whole lot of flyer marketing. Its a lot of work but can be very effective. It's definitely possible to do 4 figure weeks/weekends if you find a hot higher paying offer and really put out loads of flyers.

The thing with flyers is that they don't convert well so you really need to use the power of numbers to see results. Of course you want to track and try to optimize as best as possible, but you will need volume to do anything worthwhile.

As for business cards versus flyers, there isn't that much of a difference. In my mind, a business card is pretty similar to a flyer, its just normally on heavier stock paper. I used to do flyers on regular printer stock paper and would do 24 to a page so they were pretty similar to business card size.

"dropcards" like what you are referring to when you just leave the business cards randomly around works but again because you really need numbers, its hard to do big numbers with just drop cards.

I guess the point is that you should focus on doing a lot. Its a lot of work but who said making lots of money won't require any work

Depends on the market audience.
If it's to students or passers by, then flyers would be the cheaper alternative.

If it is something you are trying to present to business people / shop owners etc then a business card looks more professional.

Yep, I had many campaigns on student campuses. A true hotbed if you have the right offer!

I am really finding all the responses helpful.

Oggyoi - The business card wasn't really to look more professional but for it to be easier to keep and get a response from. He was thinking of a work from home offer and then having the url below it.

Kenster- If you did 24 to a page that does sound similar to business cards in size. Did you test this against tear strips on flyers that you can post on bulletin boards?

Hi Deb,

I normally did everything at one time. I literally had a plastic bin in my trunk with flyers of many sizes and shapes including tear-off tabs, mini-flyers, and large leaflets

There are benefits to tear offs and benefits to business card "drop" flyers. I have never tested the effectiveness of one versus the other though.
