The Elusive Link Between EPC & CPA Rate

Hi Everyone,

I'm just starting in CPA offers and one of my preconceptions was that if an offer had a high CPA rate then the more likely its EPC rate would be high. Since you'd have to convert less to earn more. However when looking at the top EPC offers there doesn't seem to be a direct coloration.

Why is this?

Can anyone give me their generic yay/nay criteria when looking at offers to promote, so I know what to avoid.

A high CPA is meaningless if it doesn't have the EPCs to back it up. If you're interested in running an offer, you should always split test it between two or more sources to see which source gets you the highest EPCs.

Sometimes a leadgen offer with a $2.00 CPA could outperform a $40+ rebill offer - it's all about how it converts, and what the EPCs are. That's the truest gauge to offer performance.

Your preconceptions are common but like Dan said, EPC is the true gauge to look at when evaluating which offers to run....Digging in deeper, you should request information from your network about what traffic types yield the EPC you're seeing. The EPC could look very appealing to you but if all the traffic thats hitting the offer is display and you're an SEO publisher, that data is not relevant to you.

Taking care of the application right now for you Sam...you should be all set in the next 5-10 minutes and just so you know, when you see EPC data when you're looking at offers inside of COPEAC, that data is already being pulled from publishers that use the same methods of promotion that you use. So the post i made above, our platform takes that into account and tries to provide you with relevant data based on your traffic types.
