Hi everyone, I'm starting a ppv campaign with Leadimpact very soon, just wondered what feedback people would have regarding the difference between using keywords and URL's. Is one better than the other? Does it depend on the niche? Hopefully we can get some good information going here. Thanks |

the only way of knowing is to test both, no one can accurately answer this for you because each market is different.

Thanks for the reply, I planned on testing both, but thought it would be worth gaining the opinions of others before hand, to perhaps determine where each method is more effective etc etc.

Urls are way better. You can find out the demographic of any site then set up your offers to target that demographic.

Thanks sounds great, I'm going to try using Leadimpact for list-building, giving away a free e-book. So if I were to target URL's strongly related to my niche, that would be the best bet? |

Keywords is better if you want a ton of traffic quickly. Perhaps if there is a big event happening at a specific time etc..

Great advice thanks guys. So would you agree that URL's tend to eb targeted than keywords? I'm looking to build a list, so I want people interested in my niche, but it's fairly broad. Thanks. |

How many URL's do you guys start out with if you don't mind me asking? 50? 100? 1000? and after eliminating the ineffective and weaker ones, how many are you left with? Thanks |

The more urls you start out with the better, especially if you are marketing in a smaller niche. I aim for 1000 which is not hard to do if you are using scraper software.

I use Affportal.com which is good (37/month though). I heard that there are some free scrapers around the internet but I don't know. Also one caveat.... Like I said, go for a ton of urls but that's under the condition that you are looking for low bids (up to .03 to maybe .035 a view but mostly in the .015 to .02 range). Obviously if you are going for high traffic sites then your url list will be shorter because those type of sites can eat your budget fast. For example, if you were targeting dell.com to promote XPS Laptop Email Submits. Also, optins are generally a great way to go. Stay Thirsty!! |

First of all keywords, depending on the CPV network you are using can be extremely high converting for major niches and with a lot less competition and pricing. Second of all, URL scrapers blow, the majority of affiliates never make any money with throw and stick CPV and just blow through their budgets within a couple of days. CPV is as hard as any other traffic source and requires the same amount of work. If you want to make your best play on finding winning targets then you need to pick each one and give it some real thought (yes this takes hours). If you have a huge budget, or grow into one, then you can play the paste in hundreds of URL's and let it fly game, but if you are new to CPV or don't have hundreds of dollars a day to test that way with, you aren't going to learn anything of value. Beyond that, most people starting in CPV would be far better served sticking to the alexa top 1000 and working individually or in small groups with those first. Mass traffic to mass demographic offers is the name of the game. If you are going to work hard testing multiple offers, it might as well be to a major traffic URL so that the rewards of finding a winner will be larger, then you can branch out into the smaller targets. |

![]() So are you suggesting I'd do better to handpick my URL's? Suppose I pick out 100 Individually, and 10-20 broad but relevant keywords, Then set my budget reasonably low so I don'y wipe out my funds, but still receive enough traffic for testing, then work from there? Then rinse and repeat? Thanks
