Default Attention a new scam Free FB ads

An other so called great offer appeared yesterday, the big gurus promote it as a new method to get free facebook ads from a guy who worked for Facebook, only that I bought the package and inside you receive nothing but some videos on how to create a fan page using FBML and they have their own software to generate such code.
I bought this because I was curious what the method was about and also because it came from John Chow that until now I could trust, only that lately he is promoting only junk!

Sorry about this...

Anyway, I think that this section would be a better place to share your experiences with the product:

Yeah, I hate getting scammed and I'd also try to get a refund. If you've paid with Paypal it's pretty easy. It's a shame people try (and succeed) to sell such crap.

There is already a thread about this new product.

People are complaining about it and some of our Warriors were actually promoting this.

Hi Costi,

You will notice that John Chow didn't elaborate much about the product in the email he sent.

So I checked about this with him. John said it was an Adbuy for his list.

After reading complaints, he has stopped all adverts about the product.

Usually, I wouldn't judge anyone too quickly until I check things out with him or her personally.

Why can't he check first before promoting any?

Very hard to do?

Hi Blog.

It is an Ad Buy. Not a JV nor as an affiliate.

Ad Buy and Media Buy are similar. When the link works and goes to the right lander, thats the kind of checking, most of the time. When the party who did the Ad Buy is a known group of people and have a good track record, this is especially true.

Google, FB, POF do the same thing. They won't go deeper than that to check even though most of the Advertisers are unknown to them.

And if it is a JV or as an affiliate, you'll find lines and lines of words promoting the item. Not once but several emails. This is some how risky, if the product is a scam.

You're right, but I still think that guys with huge email lists should be careful with what they promote, even if it's an ad buy. Guys like John Chow have a reputation and an email from them can make many people to spend their hard earned cash on any product.

Of course, I'd never blame John or any other guys in his position for people buying scams, they don't have to take care of people's money, each person needs to know how to buy stuff online and avoid scams, they are not our parents to say what we should or not buy. However, there are many good products out there and I can't see why a guy with hundreds of thousands of responsive subscribers would risk his reputation and damage his customers because of an ad buy.

Just my opinion, of course.

Hi Greg,

I know more high value products with much lower price. I also came across low value products with very high price.

The issue is each and everyone's value standards. They differ greatly based on education, culture and experience.

No matter how different people are, there are some values that cut across most cultures around the world. We should be aware of such values.

One of the positive values that everyone likes is INTEGRITY or TRUSTWORTHY. The opposite of that value which everyone hates is FRAUD or SCAM.

I noticed most of the Warriors complaining about the product are kind enough to use a softer tone word -> MISLEADING.

Probably they felt, there are some good things in the product. At the same time, Warriors do give people who made errors a chance to rectify mistakes or to mend their ways.

However, when the respond was not appropriate for an angry crowd, then please expect an angrier crowd that spurts harsher words.

What else can Jani do but to cope with that and make amends.

I think the product you're talking about is GetFBadsFree. (If I'm wrong, please correct me.) For those who are wondering, it wasn't created by John Chow, although he and a lot of gurus promoted it.

This product reminds me of the BS crap "Get Google Ads Free" from several years ago.

For those who are considering buying this, the product teaches you how to offset the cost of your paid Facebook ads by setting up a Facebook page and monetizing it with CPA and affiliate offers. It's a good concept, but the "get FB ads free" line is very misleading. I think a better title would've bee "Get your FB ads paid for" or something along those lines.

The product was put out by Jani G. He has some good ideas and concepts, but alot of his stuff is just rehashed old information. Although, I do like to web based software they provide for making FB landing pages.

I do like the product, and found it to be helpful when setting up FB pages. However, the ad copy and title is very misleading. I would only recommend this to people who have trouble setting up FB pages or those looking for ideas on how to monetize their pages. I wouldn't even bother with the "get FB ads free" part of it.

Always search for honest reviews first. And don't google it, since you will find mostly people promoting the product as an affiliate, but search here on the Warrior Forum, or on other reputable sources

Whether its a good product or bad one or if its worth the money or not is not really the issue here. Its the fact that deception is used in order to persuade the viewer to purchase the product. This is completely illegal and classed as fraudulant behaviour.
Many of the products being marketed online recently are stepping over this mark and the vendors think that because it is possible for the purchaser to get a refund then it ok.

Well its not OK at all and if this marketing ploy were used in the offline world it would not be tolerated and the culprit would likely be prosecuted and possibly jailed.

The problem is that the guilty parties are making big money using this tactic so will not be stopping any time soon. But if you think its irritating that these people are doing this then just wait until the FTC decide that enough is enough and move in big time to clean up the online marketing world. They will introduce a whole bunch of laws and regulations that will make marketing online far more complicated and difficult to do. All because a few greedy idiots decided that they would ruin things for the rest of us. It is perfectly possible to make a very substantial income via the internet and stay honest and ethical so why should we tolerate the "bad eggs"

There is an evergrowing list of names I will never buy from again and everybody on my lists will be advised appropriately as and when they release products. Also I would never allow anything to be promoted to the people who trust me without it being checked by myself or someone I really trust. But as we are all human, mistakes can be made. So if something bad were to get through to them I would appologise and tell them that action will be taken to minimise the possibility of it happening again. Not try to cover it up with excuses.
But thats because I do actually care about them and will not compromise this just for a few extra dollars.

George

Hi,

I normally go through John Chow's newsletters. Its fun and lots of very useful tips. But he is not my sole reference. I have many other sources for insights.

This time, I'm pretty sure it is an Adbuy because the email John sent about the product was strangely very, very short..

What ever it is, I won't push anyone aside just because of other people's junk product.

Maybe people want to impose higher standards on others. They want the promoters to test things first before promoting in their list.

My question to you. >> What about CPA?

Do you actually test all the CPA offers personally before you promote. I bet most people doing CPA don't test the offers at all.

The same question goes to lots of people who promote CB, CJ, Linkshare and etc.

Now, if we want to impose standards on others, make sure we are personally applying those standards first before we start any crusade.

Personally regarding the Jani G thing, I don't own any of his products.

I buy products after I seek enough reviews. I like to be responsible and accountable for my own decisions. Scapegoating is not a good thing if we're looking for a successful journey in life.

Even after being extra careful, I get duped and sucked-in once in a while. I learn from it.

Lastly, let's ponder this
" We can never get rid of the storms. But we can learn how to avoid from getting ship-wrecked. "

There's nothing for "Free" on fb ads. If fb made the ads available for free, they wouldn't make any money! haha However, there are ways to find people (for free) who are interested in your stuff...
