Cloaking!!! i'm begginning to understand! but...

Hey warriors,

i'm a bit slow but I finaly realized how cloaking works and how to do it...

I have just one question:

I hear people talking about "uploading it into your server"

I dont understand..

Whats a server?

whats it for?

And how do I get one?

because I have massive amounts of ideas coming to my head right now that I'm just dying to try out with facebook.

please note that 50%+ of the networks will kick you off if you cloak and they dont know you.

My guess is that if someone knows on this forum and I'm sure many people do, they probably aren't going to post how to do it successfully without being detected...maybe I'm wrong though

If you're talking about search engine cloaking, then Wordpress Shapeshifter is where you wanna be - Wordpress Shapeshifter :: Mythical Impact SEO : Search Engine Cloaking : Mass Doorway Page Generator
It's very newbie friendly and you get a lot of support in making it work for you.

@InsideOV - Did you ever get banned from an affiliate network for cloaking? That seems a little absurd since cloaking traffic is some of the highest quality traffic you can get.It's because it's all coming from highly targeted keywords - all from the search engines. I have been doing this for years and gotten paid every time. If a merchant or affiliate network tells you they don't allow cloaking they probably wish you wouldn't listen.
The term "cloaking" however is being used in a lot of different contexts though so maybe you're talking about another type of activity.
What I'm talking about is Search Engine Cloaking which is the same as doing basic SEO but cutting a few corners and automating a lot of the process which allows you to be a lot more fast and effective.

WP Shapeshifter has a definitions page that explains the difference:
Wordpress Shapeshifter :: Mythical Impact SEO

Personally, I'm only interested in link cloaking, so Shapeshifter would be of no use to me. That program could be viewed as a type of bait and switch, because if a person happened to look at the cached copy of the page in Google and compared it to the flashy ad served to the customer they'd see that they'd been served a different page than Google thought a real person would find. Not that everyone is going to go look at the cached copy. That's something an admin like me would do, though. I have never hassled someone for using SE cloaking, but I'm sure there are probably busybodies out there who would. There's always someone looking to rain on someone else's parade.

In my opinion, you'd be better off using link cloaking, and sending your customers from your "normal" pages to a pre-sell page. That's a pretty standard approach and it doesn't cost you extra to set it up. Pick up just about any blog-based IM program with prebuilt pages included and you should have the complete formula. Just duplicate it for any niche you want to promote.

When people talk about "uploading" something to your server, chances are they are talking about uploading it to the webserver that your site is hosted on, and you would likely do this through an FTP client.

If you want to get a server, there are plenty of web hosting services out there on the net, but one of my favourites is bluehost.

Your server is simply where your site is located. For me to be able to access your site from my computer it needs to be hosted on a server.

You can upload files to your server by using a free FTP software like FileZilla. Just log in to your control panel with the hosting company and get your FTP information (host, username and password).

Caching can be disabled and this isn't bait and switch if you send them to a site you think they would be interested in if they look for that specific keyword. By cloaking you provide as big a service as you would with a regular blog, just more efficiently.

I know quite a few WHITE HAT networks that either encourage or look the other way when cloaking is relevant to a campaign. I've yet to encounter a network that would assist someone in doing it, but sometimes it seems like the only way.
In my own belief though, if you can figure out how to successfully cloak, you should also be smart enough to find a way to direct your traffic to the offer without cloaking.

BTW- This post referred to cloaking an offer page, not SEO cloaking.
