"Plenty of Fish' - Not All Countries Can Advertise. Any Reason?

I was signing up at plenty of fish's advertising page and realized that not people from all countries can sign-up as an advertiser. What is the implication of this on advertisers whose countries are not listed there? Most especially, since there is a compulsory need for phone number

Hi,

I'm advertising in POF.

My country MALAYSIA is not in the list. So I placed Maldives there.

And I'm able to advertise after that.

If your billing address is in the list of supported countries then its okay.

I'm not sure on why they don't list certain countries, but I think you can try to sign up supplying another country.

Hi,

Quite good. It all boils down to the offers you plan to promote and how you target your audience in POF.

You can match your audience precisely up to their zip codes.

Here are some tips, just in case.

First step, I analyze users of POF by using Google Adplanner and Quantcast. Need to know who they are - age, income, gender.

Then do a quick review of POF demographic targeting system.

After which, search for suitable offers in Aff Networks or CB.

Then classify offers like this :
- appeals to a wide range of audience.
- ladies only
- men only
- specific age groups
- specific profession
- specific income group
- education level

Additionally, I use Google Insights to check further on INTEREST vs LOCATION.

For example, I have an offer about Shoes. I want to know which location has the most online users searching for shoes. If I found 4 major states, then I'll target them.

1 last step to consider is the INCOME GROUP vs SHOE PRICE. If the shoe offers are budget price, then the most suitable income group should be below $36k. And so on.

Then I'll make at least 5 creatives for split testing. All links must be cloaked. Must do daily monitoring. POF is CPM only.

Per offer needs at least 3 to 5 days to split test. If low CTR for that offer, then dump it. If good CTR at least 0.5%, then I continue. Then I will adjust accordingly - buy more impression, increase bid or change demographic.

You need to spend at least $20/day to see results. So a budget of $240 is good to test POF for each offer.

its totally depend on there decision. they can select those countries that they want. basically it is classified by the income from those countries. in the survey they just follow the result of other companies. like the new company follow the result of CB, CJ or other popular networks survey to determine which county to select and which not.

Even the billing list need not to have the country listed to be approved.

I come from Slovenia (EU). Tried to add budget with Visa card several times without success. The card is valid and functional (tested today). Does anyone from Europe have the same problems?

azmanar... I see you know a lot about plenty of fish and I would like to ask you how did you managed to add a funding source if you are not in that country? I would really like to start advertising with POF but I'm from Romania and I signed up choosing and address from Greece but I don't have a credit card there... How did you add funds even if your country wasn't listed.....
