Although Google is the Alpha Dog of search engines and PPC has anyone had experience with Bing PPC. Is Bing less expensive in relation to response? Are they less stringent? And most of all have you had any better results? I hear little talk, testimonials or experiences good or bad from internet marketers about Bing for some reason. Any thoughts? |

Less traffic, but also less of a pain in the ass, worth running on for sure. Also, if you get an account canned, they aren't as difficult to get a new account up and running again since they don't have 40 different access points to your life like Google does. Some niches do really well on Bing, its all about demographics like everything else is, a google user is different from a bing user much like a firefox user is from an IE user. |

Bing can be great... I've run anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand per day through them with an excellent return. The thing is... they are really starting to crack down more like Adwords recently. I was talking to a manager at Bing the other day and she told me word for word "we are cracking down on ALL affiliate websites" |

Welcome to PPC. The bigger and more expansive search engines get, the tougher they seem to crack down on advertisers. Still not as bad as the big G yet, but certainly will be!

pretty frustrating, when you pull 4 and 5 figure days and then they shut it off. Makes no businesses sense to me for them to kill a completely legal and above board campaign that's gonna pay them 7 figures/year just b/c it's an affiliate website.

Yep it is quite frustrating At the end of the day, their goal is to make the user searching experience as good as possible. The problem with Google, Bing or any huge company for that matter, is that they make blanket policies because they don't want to give their army of employees too much discretion over which campaigns are "user experience friendly" and which ones are not. It makes sense though, because if you ever talk to the people at Adwords or any major PPC platform, you know many times they don't know their butt from their elbow. So Google doesn't give these drones and trolls too much discretion and just puts a blanket policy in place, which all employees and all advertisers can easily understand. In my opinion, the problem isn't Google and Bing, I completely understand where they are coming from...there is an army of affiliate marketers and publishers that abuse the heck out of PPC platforms and make for an awful user experience. Promoting awful trial offers, forcing users into a squeeze where they ultimately don't get what they want...the list goes on. If all affiliates played between the posts, it wouldn't be a problem. So on an individual level to you or me or many other people reading this, yes it doesn't make sense for us to get the hammer, but if you look at it from a broader perspective, we may not like it, but it sort of does make sense. But trust me, I don't it at all. Nothing was better than throwing a quick PPC campaign and building a massive list by the time you woke up. It stinks!

Google definitely has more volume because it is... well Google. I can say I have personally see Bing's volume growing since the acquisition of Yahoo.

Bing has very less volume than google but has way more conversion rate than google for sure. Bing gives you great ROI. Try it & you will see it.

Not sure if there is any data out there backing this up but I've heard that Bing has more female users than Google, wish i had more to contribute to this thread but thats all I'm bringing to the table.

I heard that as well actually. Not that females are less tech savvy but I think many just use whatever default search browser is on their computer when they open it up. Same with older people.

Bing has less volume, obviously, but it's still a very good traffic source. Bing & Yahoo are more flexible than Google and, sometimes, can be also cheaper. Also, don't let the fact of B & Y having less traffic tricks you into believing that you can't do good volume without the big G. Scaling the campaigns to Google after finding a proven combination can be a logical step, but it's 100% possible to do very good volume with the 2nd tier search engines (I'm talking about 4 figures a day), specially if you use the content network as well. More people are using Google to look up their searches so even though your paying more for PPC you will get a better result then you would with Bing.
