Protraffic.com was sabotaged by my ex-programmer. Our last statistics shows that he had stolen over $540,000.00 he has also encoded and severely damaged the whole code of protraffic including PHP, Database and main module responsible for rotation and traffic routing. He also deleted some php scripts and many important modules. He completely deleted sources depository and was trying to fool many many people not only me. He also tried to open his own copy of the system with all my new ideas. He made damage for more than $1,700,000.00 to me and my system and left me with literally no money at all.

Right now he is located in Prague, if you can provide any help in locating his home address and getting our money back please contact me.

Update from 03/03/2011: We are sorry to announce that the company responsible for Protraffic.com recover has reported the delay in the deadline. Everything will be re-writed and ready for launch in the end of april.
As a programmer, and as a business owner, this has to be partly protraffic's fault.
If they didn't have backups of the software, source code or databases, that is their fault.

If they didn't change passwords after the programmer left, that is also their fault. While protecting yourself from a vindictive ex-employee can be extremely hard, what they have basically admitted to above in their state is what i have stated above.

I have to seriously question the $$$ figures above, with that type of "damage" you'd expect them to be a fairly large business that would of had some type of backup of it's digital assets.

Company asking for "help" from other people openly from on their website doesn't really look "professional" and "big" to me. It sounds link a "one man" company.. just my 2 c

Agreed, but hindsight is always 20/20. Luckily I have never had a big programming operation like that, but I can imagine a smart programmer can probably do some pretty good damage if they were planning their attack for a length of time while still working at the company.

Of course a good business plan will have proper risk and backup procedures, but I'm sure it can still be a nightmare

I think I'd also take the $$$ listed with a grain or two of salt. Two things people seem to be prone to lying about - money won and money lost. Both numbers often are exaggerated.

Hindsight is great, I've been a systems administrator for over 10 years now, so have been though alot of stuff.

When it comes to business owners, i always recommend one easily (and quickly) restored back (ie on the servers or something similar), and a back they can put in their pocket and take home (ie protection against staff and various issues).

So true, it's an interesting phenomenon isn't it.
