Default How do you lower your cost per click for CPA?

Hey,

I was just going through NeverBlueAds offers and it appears to me that they mostly do not allow you to create your own landing page for the offers. I was looking at a tax offer, which provides people with a form to add and submit their info and then I get piad. What I would have ideally wanted is to create a landing page with matching keywords for my Adwords campaigns and then putting the form on that page so people can fill it. Doing this would reduce my CPC for Adwords.

I contacted my affiliate manager and he said it wasnt possible to do this. How else am I suppose to promote this search offer? If I direct traffic normally to the URL from google, it charges me over $5 per click.

Any shortcut to this that I am missing? Is there any way to create a form on your own landing page? Are there any offers in NeverBlue or in any other CPA network which allow you do create your own landing page and put their form over there?

Thanks

First of all you can create landing pages for all CPA offers.

The reason your affiliate manager told you that you couldn't is because
you wanted to make your own SALES page.

A landing page is where you PRE sell the offer your going to be taking
them too. So if we use your example, the sale/optin can not be done
on a page you own. You have to provide a banner that people can
click on and then they'll be taken to the actual sales page.

Your landing page should be simple and straight to the point. First of
make a catching headline that describes in details what people find on
this simple page, then write only few words to describe what people
get when they click on the banner/text link and then show them your
banner. below the link or banner, what ever you choose, add the line:
"Get your free tax form by clicking here" - something like that, you get
the point.

So the landing page is the middle man.

Hope it helps

I haven't done much CPA, but I'm starting to do more. I prefer to work with offers that allow me to do my own sales page or provide me a sales page I can host. If you can't do that, then you can do what Ebbi prescribes.

Seek out those cheap keywords. If you look hard, you can find them.

I'm yet to come across a network who has an issue with a pre-sell page / review page or even an opt-in/pre-sell page being in the middle of the traffic-CPA landing page equation.

I would go and clarrify with your AM what it is exactly you want to do, my guess is they didn't understand what you were asking for. It is in the AM's best interests and the advertisers that you convert and ultimately that you're able to create an ROI, if you don't you're not going to make $$$ and they then lose out as you don't promote the offer any more.

On the topic of lowering a CPC , if your using PPC techniques, it's all about combatting the stupid tax, that is to say you better make sure your landing page perfectly matches your keywords. Domain, title tags and others, keywords proximity , density etc will all play apart in telling Google for example that you're page is something their users will want to find after clicking on your ad.

There is so much good free information on this out there, make sure you add relevent links for Contact us, Privacy, TOC, slap a blog on it as well. Everything plays it's part to some degree or other.

My personal feeling is that Google is now moving away from allowing empty pre-sell pages to dominate , the path IMO in 2009 to success in this model will be to create sites rich in content where the primary focus is information leading to offers rather than in your face "review" sites. I think Google is fed up with them filling up their search results , my bet is they will get slapped Squiddo style soon, start to build up authority sites more than single page sites, that's my feeling after speaking personally to people who do millions per annum in this PPC-Landing Page-CPA model.

Also, it's worth remembering that there are more than one way to skin a cat, PPC is not the be all and end all, and if that's all your doing look to Yahoo, people feel Google is the only player in town, that's not true and Yahoo is ultimately vastly cheaper if used correctly. Just adding Yahoo to the equation can add 25% more sales and it's often much cheaper per click.

Also think outside the box in terms of traffic, we also have media buying and PPV where traffic can be considerably cheaper than PPC if used correctly.

Lots of way to generate cheaper traffic than Google Adwords or even the content network.

I agree with Simon. Build a better site. Have links on your landing page to other, relevant, pages on your site (or other relevant sites altogether). Put a video on your landing page. Make the content "sticky." Google times how long your visitor stays on your landing page. If they don't stay long then your Quality Score goes down.

Also, definitely try Yahoo and MSN (especially if you're in a consumer, life-style, or current-events market like weight loss or beauty products).

Nothing stops you creating your own landing pages. If your looking at promoting a tax offer, simply get them to optin on your page first, offer some type of freee tax guide, or a " 10 things you must do etc etc " You can then send the subscriber to any number of tax related offers.
