Offer blacklist because of bad traffic?

Hi!
Peerfly recently emailed me, that they blacklisted me from one of there offers, because the advertiser thinks its bad traffic..

How can they tell wether its bad or good traffic? What makes it bad traffic for them.

I received the most traffic via youtube videos!

Bad traffic means that advertisers have not generated revenue.

It's normal...

You will receive emails with subject "offer blacklisted" often if you are promoting offers through YouTube..

i think the expected revenue is not getting from your site that's why they called it a bad traffic. try to optimize your site and offers again so that the advertisers can get the perfect revenue and you get the permission again.

CPA is supposed to be a win win game.

The advertiser can pay you for a form submit, but he is expecting to make money on the back-end with premium memberships, upsells, etc... If your traffic doesn't convert well on the back-end, it's useless for the advertiser, so you may be blacklisted from the offer.

also, just because you were blacklisted by one advertiser one 1 or a few different offers, don't toss away You Tube as a way to drive traffic and generate leads...I'm not sure which offer you were running but if the source was working for you, reach out to your other networks, reach out to PeerFly and test some different offers, it may yield a different result for other ADV

It happened to me too.

The problem is the offers and offers landing pages themselves. You have a big “Get a free (insert expensive gadget)” and then a very fine print on the bottom of the page which tells the user what he really has to do in order to get that free something. Now, for the average Joe online, free means free so when he decides to submit his email he thinks he’s entering some kind of a contest rather then an endless tunnel of offers, purchases or signing up for free trials.

It’s easy to see how this is annoying and makes the user quickly leave the page and dismiss the whole thing as a scam. Just think about it, if someone would yell after you in a supermarket “Hey, come here and I’ll give you a free soda” only to tell you afterwards that in order to get it you’ll have to buy $100 worth of stuff … that would be pretty annoying.

So it’s easy to see why the landing pages are a cause of confusion for many people and the offer doesn’t convert past the actual email submit (the advertiser does end up with a very spammable email though).

I guess there’s not much to do about it (if I would be an advertiser I wouldn’t want to pay $1,5 for an email address so I’m not saying I don’t understand the reasons for blacklisting).

It happens, it's not your problem. It's the merchants problem that their offers don't convert on the back end well enough. They just whine and say your traffic isn't good enough, although I can understand it would be annoying to pay out so much for leads that don't ever buy anything.

Find some other offers, plenty of offers and networks to go with.

Bad traffic means that they advertiser isn't making money from it, work with your Am to find how you can increase the quality.

The advertiser is not happy with the quality of traffic you are sending. Basically, any conversions your are sending are not "converting" on their end.

Send worthy traffic and you will have no problem with them. If your a bhatter or something well then, Its time you switch to a different NW

It just means your traffic is not backing out for the advertiser. They can't monetize what you're sending them as well as they'd like, so they'd rather you not run the offers.

I got blacklisted recently for an offer for the iPad 2. I was promoting it on YouTube. I only had about 5 conversions.

There are about half a dozen iPad 2 offers on Peerfly though so if you get blacklisted for an offer, there's often another one even in the same network.

If you get blacklisted for an offer, do you still get paid for the conversions you've already earned for that offer?

As others have stated here, it simply means that the advertiser isn't converting on the back end for your leads.

However, I'm wondering if some of them don't use this in a shady manner...as in, just make so many complaints to get out of a few bills to pay, but not enough to get the cpa network to drop us completely.

I mean c'mon...you have an offer for a free ipad, and some lovely fine print that says you have to complete 24 other stupid offers, sell your kidney, and then get a note from your 3rd grade teacher - how many conversions do they really expect?

The reason I say this is because I have a site that has about 15 offers from one particular advertiser all from the same network. I've gotten this email on 2 of their particular campaigns, and they have been running for years.

The other dozen or so seem to be just fine. Its all the EXACT same traffic. All of their campaigns have the exact same ridiculous requirements, so how can only 2 of them not be converting on the back end?

Perhaps just a way for the advertiser to shave a little off of their cost. "Hey, if we invalidate a fraction of these leads, we can save 50k a month, but it won't be enough for the network to drop us completely".

Just mho.
