Default Question on PPV stats

I'm testing a PPV campaign using PPV with URL targeting...

How many views PER SITE would you suggesting getting before deciding if that particular URL is profitable or not?

Here is what I mean...when you are using close to 2k URLs in your targeting, even if you have a few thousand views you are bound to have just a few views PER SITE...hardly enough to assess conversions/profitability...

How many views should I wait to have before reasonably assessing the profitability of the URL - or should I reduce the number of URLs?

Thank you!

I usually spend 2x the amount of the offer’s payout per URL before deciding if it is a winner or a loser. If I'm not close to breaking even just move on to the next one.

I would do what mtmjohn has suggested. It is definitely sufficient enough, but you could wait a little longer.

Goodluck,

Pay-per-view (PPV) provides a service by which a television audience can purchase events to view via private telecast. The broadcaster shows the event at the same time to everyone ordering it. Events can be purchased using an on-screen guide, an automated telephone system, or through a live customer service representative. Events often include feature films, sporting events, pornographic movies and "special" events such as professional wrestling.

Thanks everyone - my question was more around the min number of clicks per URL to assess the campaign's profitability...or would you suggest I ignore the specific issue altogether?

Honestly if you are starting out 2000 urls is probably too many as you will likely get discouraged and quit the campaign. Try with 100 urls and go 2x what the offer pays.

Wouldn't 2000 URLs just help your odds at turning a profit? Assuming they're targeted correctly...

1x offer payout, test mon - thur for most predictable results. Also PPV pages burn out

I usually start with only 10 urls ( medium to high traffic ) and let each one spend at max 2x the payout.

If an url has spent 2x the payout and has no conversions I cut it.

If some url isn't profitable but has some conversions I move it to a new campaign and create a landing page taylored to that keyword only.

Sounds promising. Thanks for sharing this great strategy with us

Thanks, I'll try that with a keyword that has converted well!

I personally think this is the best methoid when testing, you can't go wrong with this, it's a quick way to decide if you have a winner or loser.

All the best.

Sounds very interesting, what kind of offers work well with ppv? would gaming offers work?

I have had the most success with offers that pay $10+.

This means Finance ( credit reports ) , Mobile ( quizzes ) , Edu ( Degree offers ) , Rebills ( bizzops ) .

Gaming offers can work but require a lot of effort because of the low payout.

I don't think it's really okay to think in views/url, I'd rather think in $/url. I usually tend to spend about $10-15/campaign and see if it's profitable and gets me a decent ROI.

Hi,

It also depends on the network you advertise with. I only work with mediatraffic and directcpv; both networks won't give the same roi on the same campaign.

I usually run the same campaign on both network and spend on each 2x the value of the offer on each network. Weed out the bad urls quickly.

Also, if you more money, some friends of mine have had great success with trafficvance for gaming offers.

Hi!

And how about direct link versus landing page?

What works with direct linking and what works better with a landing page?
