Default Flyers Campaign- Zero Conversions

So I did my first ever offline flyers campaign 3 days ago after reading alot about it and buying a few WSO's on the topic. I targeted the movies niche with a CPA offer and set out putting them on car wipers outside movie theaters. Now I delivered 240 flyers just to test it out and I have not got 1 conversion. I was pretty optimistic about the idea beforehand and can see how it can work but just can't understand why I have not got at least 1 conversion.

Now the flyer design was pretty basic and I copied pretty much exactly the same from a WSO i bought (forgot which 1 now) where he claimed to make quite a bit of money from it.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do?? Or have you had success yourself in this method?? Please help!! Cheers

Steve.

Well making money with flyers require a lot of work, you can't expect placing couple hundred of flyers and making money right away, the best part is that you took action and start doing something, now just multiply your efforts and continue to place more and more flyers and I'm sure you will sooner or later make some money!

Sometimes copying just don't do it. You need to add your own twist. Try out different designs and pretend you are your own audience. Would the flyer move you to act?

Lastly, be consistent. But it it feels it's not working, know when to change. Change what you can, accept what you cant, but have the wisdom to tell the difference.

Just like anything done online....you much test offline as well. Flyers do work and I have done them myself for quite awhile. I was targeting dentist offices and health and beauty shops though.

Are you sure the link is working properly and it is tracking? You did target your "potential leads" very well and it's pretty weird you didn't get a lead.

Try design your flyers, maybe that would work.

I'd like to be able to give you some advice, but offline marketing and flyers are not my arena.

Anyway, as others said above, this was just your first attempt and testing is part of both offline and online marketing. Try to spot possible mistakes, tweak the campaign and try again.

I did a fair amount of flyers when I was new. Was a ton of work but it works. On weekends I would deliver thousands of flyers though. It's a very awful method in terms of conversion rate so you really need to make up for it with numbers.

As the others said, you need to optimize an offline campaign as well. You can normally increase the conversion of a raw campaign by anywhere from 2-10 times after you optimize.

One way to optimize the copy is to put up some adwords ads testing different flyer headlines and short copy!

You might consider posting your flyer so that we could offer better feedback. We're sort of shooting in the dark until we see what the recipients saw.

This guy is right, your ad-copy might not be targeted enough or not compelling, it's hard to tell without seeing something. And 250 isn't that many, you're going to have to try 1,000 or maybe more.

Another thing to consider would be to distribute in other areas. I know it makes sense to distribute a movie offer at a movie theatre, but things don't always work the way we think they should. My experience is when I think something should work one way, it usually flops. Then it happens to work out when I would least expect it to. Maybe try apartment complexes, residential houses, Walmart parking lots, etc.

I wonder if you were aiming at too broad of an audience? I just learned that if you can target to a specific demography, you might have better luck? Such as, lets say, a jewelry contest where you have to fill out an offer to be able to get into a contest entry form. Aim the jewelry item toward women from, let us say, 20-35 year old women.

Here, you would go to places like a laundromat and popular coffee shops and lounges that are hip. Also, you could try the supermarket parking lot just by 5PM, or around that time. If you have a hip, artsy area in town with many unique stores and there are cars parked along the street there, place the flyers in those window shields. I would be tempted to think that hip, artsy neighborhoods would be a good one for this kind of offer. Try to narrow down to a certain demography and you may succeed.

The best flyers are the most simple ones. Keeping it simple is a wise decision and will eventually pay off depending on the offer you are promoting.

I read a WSO on offline cpa that you should work your stats out on 1% conversion - so high paying offers obviously seem wise. But targeting and desire still play a huge role!

How long did you wait for your strategy to turn in results? You can't expect things to start picking up right away and need to give some time for people to consider and come to you. If not, it may mean that your design isn't unique and effective enough, and just because something worked for another person, doesn't mean it will work for you.

He promoted a movie offer at a theater.

Can't get much more direct than that.

I got flyers to work and once again its all about the positioning and setup. When you have this down, it matters very little what the flyers actually look like.

However, I have stopped doing affilliate offers for now and use flyers mainly for local business lead generation. I can not tell you what I'm doing, what I can say is this.

A business/person always has 2 options.
To advertise, or to sell.

You can advertise a product or service, by putting ads out,

orrrr you can sell an idea or concept, by brainstorming how to create value that is as compelling as crack for people.

Thats the angle I approach things from now. I don't make offers, I deliver potent value, usually in the form of educational guides/videos.

THEN I try selling something to them.

You need to engineer people before you can sell to them, its called "preselling". This works with almost anything. To make it work sometimes you may need to do nothing but think for 3 weeks straight like I had to just to get this last campaign working.

I did nothing but think think think. Really pulling my mind outside the realm of what everyone else was doing. Then I got a great idea out of nowhere. That idea was essentially a method of getting my message to the masses, in a way where it had NO association to a business or money or buying or sales WHATSOEVER.

I focus 100% on the message and WHY its important. The message that is, not the product. The message is always tied to the product, people usually don't realize that till the very end.

Approach your flyers in a different way. Say you have teeth whitening, don't hand out flyers that say "free teeth whitening", hand out a flyer that says "If you have ever considered getting your teeth whitened, you need to read this FREE report on the dangers associated with chemicals they put in whitening gels"

Just for the concept, of course you'd want to make it roll more smoothly than that.

Make it look cheap on purpose, this is another tip I use for myself. I don't want my flyers to be glossy and bright I want a POWERFUL MESSAGE backed up with a very potent form of value.

Then write the awesomest consumer guide you can and talk about the chemicals they put in teethwhitening gels, how some of them erode your teeth away.
Find bad products that people have complained about and put them in the guide.

Then at the end of the guide put your "3 Best Teeth Whitening Choices"
Make all the offers look different or non-affiliated, then have them all funnel to the same source (you).

Again this is about mechanics and design, I've been doing this a lot and getting great responses with local business lead gen.

After they read the report, they are now educated, but more important they are now INFORMED & CONFIDENT to make a BUYING DECISION.

Approach flyers this way, if you really put some time into it, you will find something that works. Plus it works far better than anything I've ever tried trying to get sales directly from flyers. It just doesn't work as well that way. Focus on making a string of value & education, a system, that ends with your offer. Grounding who you are also plays a huge role, and I always like to make it look like I work for a nonprofit group or just appear in a way like I can't possibly be benefiting off whats in my guides. Its all about how you word things and root your message.

GOOD LUCK!
