Content Locking: It explains itself as content on a webpage which is locked.
This lock creates a semi transparent frame over the webpage which allows the user to see the content but not interact with it.
Now, to get access through this gateway you can ask the user to complete one or more free cpa offers.
Things o do:
1. Offer some free conent.
2. Lock the content
3. Cash in with CPA offers that visitors dont need a credit card or any other payment to complete.

What kind of audience makes up your traffic source? If it's a fanpage for, say, South American cuisine you'll want to drive the fans toward relevant content such as recipes, cultural videos, culinary tips, etc. You get the idea...
It's as simple as providing unique, valuable content and attractive offers to a relatable audience.

Don't tell anyone this because I haven't and it generates me a steady revenue.

Think of something controversial. Now, think of someone very important doing that very controversial thing. Now drive traffic to a picture of said person doing controversial thing. Content lock it. Ask for zip code or email submit. Profit.

Great methods shown hear.
Another twist is to create an application and connect it with your fan page. The user is required to like the app fan page which shows up on their news feed, then they are prompted with the locker.

Slow down guys, it seems most of you dont follow tech news. Adscend media one of the biggest incent network got slapped with a lawsuit from facebook and washington state for spamming users to content locking.

story: bloomberg.com/news/2012-01-26/facebook-and-washington-sue-spammers-who-target-social-media-1-.html

(cant post links yet) just add www

my suggestion is to stay away from these methods.

That sucks big time for Adscend.
However, there are ways to create less spammy applications and not blast adverts all the time (opposite of those described in the article). Nobody should ever lock illegal or fake content.
There are thousands of methods and tools out there to help lock content for things like list building and promoting legitimate material, even driving more traffic.
I guess some people always have to find new ways to abuse such a neat way of doing things. Sad.

There is a right and a wrong way to promote on Facebook. Obviously Adscend chose the wrong way and now they are in a whole heap of trouble.

Stay away from scripts that maliciously exploit Facebook. Create real pages with real content and get users to visit those pages through their own interest.

If the CPA offer's website is only available in certain countries, then it might get rejected if the facebook ad reviewer is not in those countries.

Is content locking considered incentive advertising? I just want to make sure since some CPA offers don't allow incentives.

They could, depending on your network. Companies like blamads have offers in a large amount of countries and the relevant ads are displayed based on their location

No, these are not FB applications that can be installed on fb pages.
These are scripts that generates some code and the like button can appear anywhere on your website.

That is a great idea. And how do you suggest to drive traffic to this page? Through facebook or ppc ads? Or by submitting press release or from twitter etc?

Your site ranking can go from 100+ to Page 1 in one month. Don't try my service or you will be hooked!

Xrumer or Scrapebox blasts cannot compare with this! This is one of the most powerful, effective and yet under-utilized link building technique for getting links from authority sites which can make Google fall madly in love with your website.

Id like to see a PPC ad directed toward a site locked with gateway just to see if it could work. On their blog, Blamads said that they are doing doing it...If you can get approved and get cheap clicks, you can make bank.

If you can get cheap clicks, why not promote non-incent offers which pays more.

I always tell my business friends to use content locking on niches wich is very hard to monetize.
