Default Choosing an Ad Network

Hey Warrior Forum,

I am a new member to these forums, but this forum was recommended as one of the best online marketing forums.

I have an android app which has a iphone version, and I wanted to implement an ad model to it.

What are the main advertisers that you can advertise with? While there seem to be only a few advertisers, admob seems to be the most popular on android, the other advertisers include:

- Tap.me (relatively new, but innovative compared to your traditional ad methods)
- tapjoy
- admob
- Adwhirl (sub of admob)

There are likely others, like the new Kiip which just launched. Has anyone tried using this?

On apple's iOS platform there is:

admob
iAds
others?

But what I really want to know is how well do these marketing networks compensate you? And do you need a minimum # of users before the ad networks will take you on?

I heard there is a minimum amount of downloads/users needed by your app in order to have an advertiser advertise with you, is this true?

Just trying to get an understanding of the ad networks out available for app developers and what type of compensation they provide.

Thanks for any help!

The networks you mentioned are among the most experienced in mobile advertising - best to contact them directly and find out what their requirements and specs are. Each is different depending on the nature of your app(s). Some do better with games, some with maps, etc., but will usually be based on CPM.

Although the pool of prevalent networks is small at the moment, this will certainly not be the case in the near future. We just recently expanded our content-locking to iPhone and Android considering the cold, hard facts on increasing mobile usage. But, as is the case with web ads now, the peripheral of users will become more narrow with mobile content so you'll have to get ahead of the curve fairly quickly with effective ad formats.

What do you guys consider to be effective online advertising these days. I mean we have evolved from traditional banner ads, has anyone seens any advertising online which they deem to be truly innovative? Or are we still more or less in the age of banner ads?

I mean, i've a surge of video based advertising, and some of those video streaming sites I've been on have mandatory video playback advertising which plays as soon as you enter the site, but that is just plain annoying.

As there been any market research conducted over online advertising which shows the effectiveness of newer advertising methods to end users which have proven to be more effective than traditional banner ads?

so do mobile advertisers work the same way? Does anyone know what mobile CPA networks there are? Or are they on a different type of revenue sharing model?

You'll be seeing more and more monetization networks entering the mobile space - including CPA. As mentioned in my previous post, we just introduced content-locking to iPhone and Android (which is based on a CPA format), although you'll find most mobile ad networks are currently structured on CPM and CPC.

Offermobi and Sponsormob are 2 that I can think of off the top of my head. There are others out there.

For mobile cpa networks, you can try Sponsormob, MobPartner, Offermobi and CornerBlue.

Hi Misc86,

As you may know, Sponsormob already launched it's iOS and Android SDK, other operating systems will be available soon. With our unique tracking and ad-serving system it is very easy to turn your traffic into hard cash. Simply integrate our codes into your app and start making money instantly. For every Euro of commission earned we will give you an extra Euro on top! So if you generate a total of 1,000 € revenue in June for instance, we'll transfer 2,000 € to your bank account.

You only need to sign up on our web site (sponsormob(dot)com/developers) - it's totally free of charge! We will create your own App Developer profile where you will be able to download our SDKs and choose the offers you wish to promote in your apps.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I am always happy to be of help.

Thanks and best regards,
Jenny

I used 7search but the volume is too much low so according to my experience best paid method is POF.
