I'm running a few Facebook ads on a CPM basis... How many thousand impressions would you suggest I let a particular ad run before I determine whether it's converting or not? 2K, 5K, 10K? Thank you |

It depends on mainly on CTR. If your CTR is very low its better to pause that ad.

It depends, but if your CTR is really bad there usually is no use in going over 5k. If it's .08 or more you should most likely push 10-20k.

Yes CTR is the best indicator I find - if it's good I'll keep it going. If not, then it's back to the drawing board.

Careful with CPM on Facebook. You can spend a lot of money quickly. I would go CPC since you only pay if you get a click. Also, it used to be CPM was better for ads that had a high CTR. The FB algorithm has changed and now it is better to use CPC. You get more volume with CPC and higher overall sign up rate which means more money for you. The unfortunate thing about CPC is the clicks start out high but they do get lower the more clicks you get (20, 100 or more clicks can really bring costs down). 10k impressions is good for most CPA offers. I usually think in terms of 2 to 3x the offer payout. If a CPA payout is $4. Don't spend more than $8 to $12 testing an ad. You can often kill an ad before that if the CTR is low, etc. But if you have an ad that "might" be a winner 2x to 3x the payout is a good rule of thumb. |
