you can work on your website SEO and get organic traffic for your efforts, but i think it's best to do both methodes at the same time.

As you mentioned , it is advisable to work both on short term and long term traffic sources . That why you need to combine short term traffic sources like PPC , PPV and long traffic sources such as SEO.

It is also recommended to send your traffic into a squeeze page and build a list so as to build a very reliable and long term traffic source .

PPC and PPV is best way of hunt traffic, You can try search and SEO too. But they might take long time.

I would go to JV Giveaways first. This is proven and fertile ground, and you can do quite well with these. Once a basic list is in place, I would work that, but add mailers to the best email lists out there. Always offer something of great quality and volume to entice the reader to your squeeze page. Next I would move into CPA marketing and go after really high-value targeted traffic.

One thing is for sure, in my opinion. If you don't diversify you open yourself up to potential problems. Think a about physical products as well.

If you're looking for mass traffic try either facebook (but be careful about over spending) or 3rd party search engines like Miva or 7search. Clicksor and AdBrite also have tremendous amounts of traffic but be warned, a lot of niches may not work on these sources because the traffic quality may be weak. It's all about finding the right offer for the source.

For example, of the above, only Facebook has shown to be a money maker for me in dating. Everything else simply didn't convert even when the landing page and targeting was the same as the facebook campaign. On the other hand, Facebook doesn't even allow email submits any more but I've had some KILLER campaign with basic free iPod, free XBOX email submits on clicksor.

Since the question was which sources bring in the most traffic, these would have to take the take. The only way I ever got more traffic was a major Google Content Network campaign, and a media buy (That tanked lol)

You can also use a combination of sites like twitter facebook, digg, etc along with google alerts, twitterfeed, and hellotxt to get good traffic. Just be sure to use good keywords and negative keywords for your posts, because they will post to all of those profiles with a link back to your site. This is a very sweeeeet way to get users that you would have not otherwise been able to.

I have been using that for a few offers, and even had some success with incentivizing signups through twitter, facebook, and the like (through this technique). If you can find an offer that let you iframe then you can "double dip" on the commissions.. but you probably don't need me to tell you that.

Take it or leave it, lol... I can verify that it works for me, and so can my landlord because it pays my rent every month.

Blind traffic with any method will not work well. SEO and PPC provide targeted views to your page. Facebook ads do get clicks but you should consider the mood of these people and we all know that they're not into "i wanna buy now" mode but rather curious to see what this offer is. I spend 535 USD to Facebook but i stopped using them for good. If i want to create a buzz or inform the people for something they're OK but only for that.

What kind of budget do you have? if you're going the free route, try forums, articles, videos, and social sites like Facebook (building a fan page)

If you have money to spend, PPC with very targetted keywords and a limited daily spend limit can work well.

I use facebook mainly for my traffic sources. I sent users to a LP in my niche and collect thier email info.

Then I send them offers that are related to them, its a great long term strategy.
I want to get into CPV, so im just learning to use that source

Try a guest post on a big well known blog.

Think of it this way. Some blogs have hundreds of thousands of subscribers. If you can get a guest post on there you'll get a flood of traffic plus a very powerful link that will boost your PR and your position in the SERPS.

Just spend some time researching who the players are in your niche. Use Compete | Compete to find out how much traffic they get and then have a look to see if they accepts guest posts.

The fact is that these webmasters need content and they'll happily feature your link if you're providing valuable content for their readers.

You mentioned Miva and 7Search as sources of high-volume traffic. Have you had success with either? I've had one failed test with Miva and I'm currently running a campaign on 7Search. I find 7Search looks more promising, but I haven't had any positive results there either.
