Default What Ad Server Do You Use?

Hi Warriors,

New with Banner Ads & would greatly appreciate to hear from people who use a 3rd party Ad Server / Ad Rotator - which is your favorite option?

Would appreciate your feedback!

Thanks,
Randall

Hey Randall, in my opinion, AdShuffle is your best choice when it comes to serving ads. Hope that helps

Adshuffle is probably the best choice if you have a really small budget and have little experience, but Sitescout is 1000 times better for an affiliate who is going to spend some money.

I think their minimum is $500 per month but for what they offer it's a steal. Obviously if $500 is your entire ad budget, that's not a good decision but using something like Sitescout will make you a lot more money than Adshuffle so make the switch when you can.

Opps! Don't I feel embarassed

I had joined AdShuffle a few weeks back, however, have not been able to login - you see, I have been using Google Chrome as my browser & when I click on the 'Client Login' link it simply redirects me back to the homepage of the site. After seeing John's response I just tried a 'shot in the dark' by trying to launch it using Internet Explorer instead...

Can you guess the result???

WORKS GREAT! lol...

Also, SiteScout & OpenX sound interesting. I was looking into OpenX recently and it looks like you can self host it on your website if I recall correctly?

If so, do you need a dedicated server (i.e. does it use too much of the server resources to be hosted on a shared environment)?

I use OpenX on a shared server and dedicated to one site. The site is very large and openx handles the site and rotation very well. I have three different banners(so far) rotating across 7 different zones and still working like a charm.

btw-you can join the openx marketplace and sell/auction off any excess space/traffic that you have.

Adshuffle is a great one for sure.

I haven't used sitescout yet, not enough hours in the day.

I used OpenX but since a year or so I switched to Google DFP Small Business.
It is free and once you get a hang of it you'll like it.

Here is a Tutorial I wrote about How to set up and work with DFP Small Business because at first it looks a little bit complicated.

OpenX until one of my dedicated servers was just dragging because of it. I now run a custom one I developed. Not as many features as OpenX, but great stats, weight, and geo targeting. Serves me well. I still recommend OpenX to people though, you just outgrow it eventually.
