You should:

Stop reading and start taking action. Have you made a dime by reading too many things?

Test whatever comes to your mind. Everybody has an idea but only a few people dare to implement their own ideas.

Never skip the hard work. Put time and effort into your work. Have you ever heard of millionaire internet marketers that used to be creating 100 twitter accounts per day?

Choose one method and never give it up until you see results. I see many newbies jumping from one method to another each day.

Never trust people that talk about a magical button that makes you money.

Good post OP. I have been doing this stuff for over 2 years now and I have tried and tested every single traffic source. Magic software? Absolute bull****. Doesn't exist.

That is why now that I am creating my first website,I am going with clickbank products that promote things like Organic Dog Food, Saving money on airfare and others not IM related. I don't care about the new shiny JV offer or 14 upsells or whatever. I don't want newbies falling into the trap. I want to market things that will not tarnish my reputation and will help showcase that I care about the things I sell. If I do IM, it will not be clickbank. It may be something on here, like Dennis Bekker or Jim Cockrum or others that are under the rader but really try to help people make money. Or something like an affiliate program for Host Gator, GoDaddy, Aweber. The money may not come as fast, but in the long run will come and it will help establish your rep.
Maybe I am stupid in that regard, but to me, my brand is my reuputation and sometimes, that is all you have, especially if product creation or some other method, may not be something you are too keen to do..for now!
