i've created my first campaign in FB targeting just sex, age and city,
the suggested CPC is above $7, how is that possible ??

I would use the other usual traffic sources if i could but this offer can be run only on FB.

@op you don't change the keywords, but you try to get a high CTR using the best images possible

that's the main part you are not selecting...choose as many interests as possible...to give you an example...I choose an average of 30 or more

I'm sure you will have to narrow it down with interests and categories. sex, age and city is so broad, its only logical that the bidding costs more.

Ok let's take a quick step back. First off, without necessarily giving everything away, is this US traffic, and what is the audience size? Remember the suggested bid is based on a number of things, including what other's are bidding and paying. That being said, I've NEVER seen one that high, and I've put up tens of thousands of ads. Not saying it isn't true, just saying something seems whacky, and you should ABSOLUTELY be able to get that way way down.

Anyway, I'm sure you can get this down, but I'd be interested in the audience size as well as the country.

I thought the solution was the opposite; I should be more broad in order to find people not targeted by other advertiser yet, if i want a lower cpc


It's AUS traffic, i'm targeting single people in small group of age (for example 39-42 exact age).

Probably the promblem started when i created my first test campaign last month, was CPM and it had an incredibly low CTR because was just a test and i didn't care much about it (i completely forgot it and i waste $25 indeed).
This is influencing my current campaign perhaps.
I need to create a bunch of good campaign with good CTR to recover this status.

There is only one better way to lower the CPC ...it is images...use cool ones and you'll start getting clicks...that means your CTR will shoot up...

and then facebook will reward you with low CPCs...at 1.35+CTR a 0.001 CPC can be achievable!...it's all the images!

You need at least a 0.30% ctr to get cheap clicks.

Also don't bid CPC always go CPM at first.

There's lots of ways to get dirt cheap clicks on AUS traffic and US traffic.

CMP = i can't understand which ad is more clicked without wasting hundred of $

I think CPC at first is better, than go for CPM using the ads with high CTR.

well I dunno, maybe this has worked for you...

but, I'd suggest a beginner to go with CPC because you are only being charged per click...

on a CPM it's very easy to drain the account...facebook does give impressions but what we really need is clicks...

Have any of you found fresh ad accounts receiving lower suggested bids for the same selects (anyone try it simultaneously with an old and new account)?

Does past campaign history help or hurt suggested bids for new campaigns?

i have a 0,15% CTR and i bid a maximum cpc and Facebook still raising the highest bid constantly???? where is the logic? and my CR is 30%

Delete the campaign and create a new campaign .

Make also sure to start with high CTR possible .

Strange, I would think the costs would be lower with broader targeting. Anyone know how broad the effect of a bad history is, I thought it only effected the campaign containing the poor ad.

Just to cover all the options, if your ad landing page is a Facebook Fan Page the cost should be lower than linking off site. The ad title is locked to the fan page title.

I have heard reports of CPM not getting a much volume as PPC, it was recommended by some to at least start with PPC, seems there may be more than one working formula.

I havent seen so high suggested bid before lol.
Most about $3 ...

Anyway, try target narrow and upload lots of ad copies,

remmeber the higher CTR the lower CPC
