If anybody has used Media Buying in the past and knows a lot about it, I would really appreciate if you could tell me more about it. So I've heard it's where you buy newspaper article space, commericials, etc. is that true? I was just wondering if anybody knows of any good methods or has a link to one that could help me understand it clearly and/or some good methods to it. I have about 10k, but obviouly I'm not going to spend it all at one time and not spend anything before I know about it.

Mike has a great WSO on the topic and Chris is right too. Offline media buying is more of newspapers, magazines and tv ads. Although combining both worlds can work well too! |

Use the 10K wisely in media buys you can see that all disappear very quickly ![]() Be sure to set your budget low and learn in the process. I would recommend contacting smaller blogs first and try and workout some deals. CHAD |

One piece of advice is not use an ad-network that has a bidding platform where you are competing directly with other publishers for placements. I've seen bid costs go all the way from $5 per click to $60 per click just so publishers could remain in the number 1 placement (knowing the publisher was going to lose money). Like someone else said on this thread, go direct to sites and purchase media placements directly on there so you're not dealing with competition that you would experience when running through a Pulse 360. If you have idea about the types of offers and the demo you want to tap into use sites like Alexa Rankings to determine some of the more appropriate sites to reach out and then utilize domain tools or WHO IS to get into contact with them. Best of luck to you OP |

Media buying is basically buying ad spaces on websites. You can use media buying platforms or set direct deals with website owners (probably the best alternative for beginners). You can learn a lot about media buys on this forum for free (the search box is your friend ) as well as on some good internet marketing blogs. However, if you want to speed up the things you can consider buying a WSO... the one from Mike Morgan suggested above is top notch, and you can also check PPC-Coach's MediaBuysCoach.com program (I don't know this one, but ppc-coach.com is great). 10k is a lot of money to some people and also you can burn it pretty quickly if you do not know what you are doing. Try invest in YOURSELF instead. Read more and ask your aff manager etc. Have you got any Paid traffic experience? |
