I've seen something like 0.5%
basically I keeping a rule of 0.15% for myself and pausing anything lower than 0.1%

When banner blindness kicks in, try unpause some and pause some..

You could have an ad getting .08 CTR or slightly less and STILL converting with positive ROI. I've hardly seen an ad convert under a .05 CTR and should usually be killed after 1k or 2k impressions.

I've also had ads that get .19 or above .20 getting ZERO conversions too, it all really depends. Some picture/ad combos cause people to convert, some don't.

If you are carrying a .50 + CTR after 5k impressions then you should be killing it, as long as the offer is a good converter.

Like Jeff has said if you have a .5 or higher CTR and over 5K impressions then you should definitely have MONEY. If you do not change some of your ad pictures and offers and keep split testing.

I think what Chris means to ask is what dating niche are you looking to go after?

- BBW
- Christian Dating
- Jewish Dating
- Black Dating
- Single Parents
- Asian
- Cougar

And what country do you plan on targeting?

Christian Dating is always hot in my opinion, but it has gotten some competition no doubt.

Granted I haven't advertised on POF in a while, but I'd cull anything that didn't have 0.15% CTR.

Splittest everything and trash the bad and keep the good

ctr can be different from ad copies to lifetime. I have ads with ctr of .24-.08 with the ads with less of a ctr being my better performers. I kill anything with a ctr of .08 or less. I'm upping it to like .1 because I'm getting the hang of getting good ctr's. Just keep split testing the heck out of your ads. When you got an ad with your desirable ctr, then go out and find more images just like that one and run another test. I'll be honest it becomes a pain finding images check out Justin Dupre for images, that saved me tons of time but cost me like $14 for like 35 custom images, but it was well worth and I feel it has a lot to do my high ctr. Learn how to use the attributes that target age and location as well that helps me a lot.

You have to calculate the eCPM's

Imagine if your CTR was higher. You would never know. So it is of a little importance.

This is all really solid info.

I've been getting a range from 0.3 > 0.01, although I am finding some of lower CTR produce more sales.

Has anyone tried to market anything other than dating offers on PoF?
I know that it is a dating site, but with everyone throwing dating offers at that user base, I'm thinking it might be worth trying some cross-marketing.

So if anyone has tried to anything other than dating offers I'd be very interested to hear what it was and what kind of results you got.

Thanks.

i'd say 0.15 and above for 110x80 sizes is a good ctr on pof

this is good advice. Also play around with your targeting. I've had some ads I thought were losers and I changed my targeting to logins<50 and got a much higher ctr. On other ads I targeted logins>50 and had unbelievable results.

So test, test, test
