There are many different tracking methods most well known being tracking202 and prosper202. Is this right? Which is most newbie friendly? I've never had to track anything before so it seems a little overwhelming. If someone could explain the process of actually tracking aff links that would be helpful to. Will separate sub id's be needed for each keyword? Any help is greatly appreciated. |

Well there are several ways to track your affiliate links... The manual way using subids that you manually setup and the more automated way using Prosper202. In all honesty tracking is a skill and has a learning curve, there is no super easy way to learn it. You just have to do it and figure it out. Of course there are shortcuts to the learning curve. You didn't provide many details of what your doing, so I'll just say that Prosper202 is a good place to start. It's FREE and there are mods available that make it even better. There are other alternative tracking capabilities as well... Most have a cost associated to them. I usually recommend learning and using Propser202 first and then if you want something more looking at other tracking solutions. Once you understand Prosper202 you'll have a better understanding of tracking overall. In general you have a couple of different ways to track your affiliate sales and it all depends on what the affiliate network or product owner supports. You can use a tracking pixel and / or postback URL to get more automated results... Or you can use subids and then run reports and update your conversions manually say every morning for the prior days conversions. Proper configuration of Prosper202 will allow you to run any of those. Basically what it amounts to is Prosper202 adds a unique subid to your affiliate link for every click. That way you can track which keyword and which campaign got the conversion. You can do the same thing manually but it's kind of time consuming and management intensive. I hope that helped out a little... Thanks, Derek | |

Hey Jaymoney20! Tracking202 and Prosper202 are basically both the same thing, with the plus side that Prosper is self-hosted (on your own domain). This makes it more secure and reliable (if a bit more costly, as Tracking is free!)... My advice, if you can afford Prosper, go for it!

i'd just go with prosper202 as it's free, where as tracking202 costs money
