Default CPA Offers scare customers?

Hey guys,
I'm a co-owner for one of the MMA clothing companies. Yesterday, I saw "$500 Gift Card to UFC Store" CPA offer in one of my networks. I decided to put it on the web site and promote it to our customer base. It's a simple e-mail / zip submit.
After about an hour I received negative feedback about the offer, people called it a "scam" because after you submit your information it's asking to complete another offer, just like any other CPA offer.

Anyone else experienced the same thing?

Hey Tolyz

Just to let you know if a viewer supplies their email address, you will receive a commission, but they wont automatically receive the gift card.

Once they have completed the frontend offer (gift card in this case) they will then be taken through a sales funnel of other offers, this is to ensure the advertiser makes money on the backend. Only once they have filled in the relevant offer/info will they receive their gift card.

The gift card itself is not a scam, it just requires a little bit more effort and participation from the customer before they receive.

I hope this helps, if you have any further questions on offers or the process then let me know.

Cheers

Jason

If its locked content, they know what they're in for. As far as you specifically recommending the offer to your list though, they may get offended because the odds of them actually receiving the gift card are very small.

Never had this myself, perhaps try some cps offers on cb, cj, epn, amazon, etc that might be more "trustworthy" to your user base

I think your biggest problem is that your customers know, like and trust you.

I've found with email submits and rebills you'd rather them not know who you are. Keep in mind that these offers are as shady as you can get.

They get BOMBARDED and strong-armed with follow-up emails trying to get them to BUY, BUY, and BUY more!

I've never been a huge fan of these offers, except their ease of conversion.

Yep, great advice. I've had a couple MMA sites, and Pepperjam usually has the best offers for that crowd.

Interesting that you had people take the time to throw out some negative feedback, I would point out the TERMS that should be clearly stated at the bottom of any offer. Good luck!

You get commission for the cpa offer as long as the customer submits their e-mail? is this for all programs?

Simple submits aren't all necessarily scams, but they can be extremely misleading. If your visitor base is one that you are looking to retain (you are trying to build rapport/get them back to your site) then normally simple submits are not the way to go because they are normally misleading.

Of course people always make the argument that nobody in their right mind would just hand out $500 gift cards for only your email address. Everybody should know that, but some of the hurdles these offers require are nearly impossible.

Keep in mind that CPA is a wide field with many offers. I promoted Netflix a long time ago to the MMA crowd and it did really well. There are other options our there within CPA beyond simple submits.
