KEYWORD QUESTION HOW MANY IS TOO MANY? WHAT IS NOT ENOUGH?

Please CPA related answers only. I've been learning CPA for about a month, but spending about 30 hours a week dedicated to learning.

However, I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out this whole keyword thing. What tools do you use for keywords? How do you decide on your keywords?

I hear many different methods.
Go on 7 search, dump thousands of keywords at .01 see what gets clicks and converts. Get down to 50 and start a google adwards campaign.

Select a few keywords split test, see what works.

How do the pro's do it?

Please any advice on keyword selection is welcome. Thanks!

I use one part Google KW Tool, 1 part Market Samurai, and 1 part common sense. I'm just glad the first two usually work.

I also check the competition for my potential keywords very, very carefully.

Use 18 keywords as my main focus for any long-term project...small affiliate websites I use about 3 to 5

I would always split-test. Because some will work, and others wont. I would use long-tailed keywords if your competition is fierce.

Use google keyword tool to see what keywords are getting searches....

Google Keyword tool helps to quickly identify keywords related to your niche, but is also use a firefox plugin called seoquake that can show you the keywords of other top ranked sites in your niche. So, you have the option to easily duplicate the keywords of an already sucessful site
