Important Information For Tracking202 Users:

Tracking202 Is Now Closed! As of 9/14/2011 Tracking202 Users can no longer input new campaign data. The servers will remain online until 10/31/2011 so that users may migrate campaign data to self-hosted Prosper202.

Tracking202 Users may find this article helpful for migrating from the hosted Tracking202 system to the self-hosted Prosper202 system.

If you're the least bit serious about driving traffic you have to use the self host version (prosper202).

The site gets overloaded and freezes traffic all the time (and I mean multiple times every day).

You are GUARANTEED losing sales if you drive traffic with T202. Get some VPS hosting and install Prosper202.

yes we are in the process of officially shutting the hosted version of Tracking202 that we have online at Free PPC Affiliate Tracking Software | Tracking202

I just disabled the ability to add new campaigns and will be working on a way to help everyone export out their links. There no expected eta on this tool, however we'll make sure everyone has a chance to migrate before we completely shut down the tracking servers.

As it's been mentioned by others, our official recommendation is to Get Prosper202 and install on your own servers. Beyond hosting is our only official hosting partner and we recommend you host with them. They have servers with p202 already installed and their support is awesome. Most hosting sites now offer VPS hosting. Depending on your budget would probably depend where you want to go.

RapidVPS is good and cheap (very fast support response). Heard hostgator's is good (never tried it myself). I know a guy who drives massive traffic who swears by MediaTemple.

If you go with a company that's been around awhile you should be good.

Just be sure that it is...
1. Managed hosting -- this is so you don't have to set everything up yourself. You'll need help setting it up (I still do and I've done it dozens of times).
2. Make sure you get the price with the interface (cpanel/WHM is the most common). Its not uncommon for them to offer a great rate only to have a $50/mo license fee for the interface.

As to which one I use... I use several

Not going to tell which ones as its used for tracking competition. But most are safe to use if you heed what I said above.

Also... DON'T USE SHARED HOSTING!

Can't tell you how much money I've lost this year on small/low traffic sites alone because sites went down or databases crashed and no traffic got to the offer.

Only use shared for personal websites, etc. Not for biz related sites. Hosting has taken a major downturn this year and shared hasn't worked AT ALL for me anywhere (have used about 15 different ones this year).

Also set up an acct at pingdom.com so you're alerted if your site does go down. At least you can cut off your traffic so you're not bleeding money.

Yep, I haven't used it but, Bevo is another option for anyone looking for a free hosted solution.
