Hi ![]() I am running a FB ad as a test and it is currently getting a CTR of 0.024%. It is linking to a sales page of an affiliate product. Is that a normal CTR on IM products or should I be aiming higher? What is the normal conversion rate (click to buy) on IM products? Thanks Di |

It varies with the offer. Generally, anything above 0.25% is a great CTR.

CTR does not matter, what matters is whatever you are getting, is it converting for you or not.

0.024% is an awful CTR for fb ads, try aiming for 0.15%+ CTR

Above .1% CTR is where you're going to start seeing reduced clicks. Anything above that is only going to make it more and more profitable for you. Coming from a very bitter newbie Facebook advertiser, I wish you the best of luck. |

Thanks for the info. No conversions yet but that is why I am testing. I capped the budget at $5 so that I did not get into trouble. Will test again tomorrow with a different ad.

| Just so you know, with a 5 dollar daily budget you're not going to get any relevant data that is going to help you profit. Facebook requires a much higher spend per day. Definitely not for the faint of heart.

The CTR for facebooks ads should be at least .1, but are you going to get the conversions, i.e. are they becoming clients or customers to your site? Make sure to ask for the data from the customer on your site or even yourself.

Thanks again. Just noticed something interesting about the campaign. The number of "click throughs" showing on Facebook is higher than what is reflecting on my affiliate page tracker. Does this mean that people seeing the add are clicking on it more than once? I wonder why they would do that, especially since there were no sales off this test.

1. Use prosper202 to track. It's free. 2. Tighten your demographics with interested audience. 3. Since it is a product for sale, you should definitely use a landing page and presell the customers why they should buy it. 4. Your should aim ctr for 0.150+. remember higher the ctr, lower the bid/cost. 5. set your budget to $20 a day so that you can see results in an hour or two. Hope this helps. |

I've never had much luck with Facebook ads.. with click through rates around .8% and the traffic didn't convert well.
