I have thought about sending a CPA offer to them in a broadcast message BUT I have a couple of questions/problems.. First, it says "Allowed From Names" I use ListWire.com for my autoresponder. I don't know how to change the settings to those "From" names.. Next, it says always use the suppression file. I don't know what this means or how to do this.. This is my first time building a list, in case you couldn't tell. lol I really didn't expect anyone to subscribe but now that they are, I don't know how to broadcast to them.. |

At this point, your best bet is to continue growing your list then start to pump them with emails and offers

Yeah I plan to keep growing the list, but I dont really understand how to send my broadcasts to them when I am ready. I use ListWire.com, its a free autoresponder. I don't know how to set the "From" names for the email broadcasts, or if they allow you to at all.. Also, I don't know how to use a suppression file with them. What do you guys think? |

I wouldn't even send them 1 offer for ( at least ) a good month. Build up your reputation by giving TONS of free stuff, advice, videos, etc. |

Trust me, I know how to use search engines. If I could have found my answer there, I wouldn't have posted my question in here. @jeff, It's been about 3 weeks since I started building the list. All I have being sent so far is the follow-up message after they opt-in. I'm not planning on promoting anything to them just yet, but it would probably be a good idea to figure out how to do these things before that time comes :P lol

OK, well good for you then, you're doing things the right way. And I definitely would not consider myself to be anyone great at list-building, but I have learned 1 thing in the process. KILL them with OVER-delivery. I'd probably start setting up 10 emails or so, with 7 of them going to a freebie or you just talking to them spaced 2 days apart. Then on the 8th I'd say you could throw in an offer, but try to make it like a good recommendation instead of an just an offer. Quote:

I've build many, many lists with thousands of subscribers. You're definitely on the right track with 90 subscribers but you need to keep building while monetizing at the same time. Now, I'm assuming your 90 subscribers are "double optins" meaning they confirmed their email address after they entered it. Services such as AWeber and iContact allow you to email these double optins on an auto responder sequence where you can pitch CPA offers to them. Now the big thing I see many beginners do is send lackluster emails that mainly only contain one big image. This is bad - I'm a huge fan of only including text in my emails and also letting the subscribers know WHY you're emailing them. Remind them of your optin site and the information they initially requested. Don't email more than once a day (many providers won't allow it anyways) and after a week consider going every other day or so (monitor your unsubscribe rate). A suppression list is a list of email addresses that have ALREADY opted out of a particular CPA offer. So if you mail them AGAIN you're out of compliance. Many email service providers provide you with an area where you can upload the suppression file and "clean" your list. If they don't you'll have to manually do it which would be very time consuming - but you're not compliant until you do. |

Yikes.. that is a lot of emails to check by hand just to send a broadcast.. lol I think I will just keep on building the list.. Maybe I'll buy an actual autoresponder when it gets bigger and hopefully I can export my prospects to import them into the new service. |

Firstly build solid relationships with subscribers, then try to build bigger list (use PPC, Forum Posting, SEO etc.). The good way is also ad swap with other internet marketer's list.

Please don't spam my thread to raise your post count. There are millions of other ways to increase your posts that are much more effective (actually taking the time to read the question and post a real response is a great way!) If you don't have an intelligent comment or something to contribute to the discussion, and you did not read a word of my thread, just don't post. Thank you.

90 subscribers isnt a lot, I got a list of like 100k subscribers and the response rate is usually not that great. BUT, the trick is in the numbers, the more subscribers the more cash it will bring. At this stage I would just focus on building up your list and then whack em with some generic offer, like debt management. I get like $90 bucks for a simple form submit so its pretty much one of the best and easiest offers out there. Any questions just let me know, Nick |

I may be dropping this comment a into the conversation a bit late but i would suggest that you don't send them anything sales related until you have sent them at least 6-8 emails with valuable content/tips/freebies and no catch. That way you build up some trust and they are more likely to open you mails. Depends on the niche as to what you send them but as mine is IM i send out weekly traffic tips to help people get free traffic to their sites. The 8th weeks mail is an affiliate product but it's still free - 500 free targeted visitors to your website - there is no catch and no payment details needed. the only time i make any money is if they decide to buy more, but i also offer a 20% discount coupon for them if they do go for more. I also put the info into the email but inform my subscribers that a more detailed description will be available on the website and create a page for each mail. Pretty pics/vids helping them through the process. Also helps your site rank because of new content. Don't link from the squeeze page to the free tips but link from the tips back to the squeeze so that subscribers can see that only people on the list get the tips. You may also get some organic traffic after a while too if you have enough good content on your pages and you link to them. Hope some of this helps. If you want to bounce any ideas i am always up for a skype session. Just pm me Quote:

Thanks everyone, I'm now up to 104 subs. Still not sending any messages other than my follow up, which actually tells them to UNSUBSCRIBE if they are under the age of 18 and informs them of my plans for the site, letting them know that we will be moving towards more adult themes since I am no longer monetizing alongside adsense, therefore I can promote the really adult stuff that I couldn't promote with adsense on the site. lol I dont seem to be losing any subs either.. |
