Fellow warriors! I just wanted to share the exciting news breaking this morning. Lijit has been acquired by Federated Media. This brings a whole new dynamic to monetizing the independent web. Lijit | Press Release - October 4, 2011 is the Lijit press release but if you follow any of the major media outlets in display advertising you'll probably catch articles around. (all things d, ad exchanger, the next web etc) Still looking to get to know people needing help in the CPM space. Feel free to reach out with any questions. |

Thanks for the kind words! We're very excited for what this will mean moving forward for the display advertising industry. Its so true that CPM gets no love on the warrior forums but i've made a few good relationships and found a LOT of great info. The performance is based on readership. We do have some sites that perform at $1.00+ between 30-40% fill and many that perform at .20-.40 at 85%+ fill. Each site will perform differently. We're just another tool in the publishers tool kit to maximize revenue... some sites work well for cpm and some dont. Edit: I missed posting about what kind of CPM theyre going to be providing. My understanding so far is Federated will continue to be a high end direct sale model with integration coming in 2012. They're a lot more selective than we are because we focus on mid to long tail publishers. |
