Okay guys. I was going to make my last thread a journal, but I really wanted to get my own thread rolling here because I didn't want people to simply click on my thread and than not realize more things were in there, so if anyone has any tips of anything like that, please let me know. I'm posting what I'm doing and what I think is going wrong.. So two days ago I ran a free ipad2 campaign and I broke even on 7search. My keywords were things like.. ipad, ipad2, free ipad, etc. Just stuff related to iPad. Except I spent way too much money on the keyword "ipad" which was .05 and I sent something like 100 clicks from that keyword with no conversions, I was waiting to see if there were certain traffic sources that were better or not and I just wound up plowing through money. Maybe I should have done cheaper clicks at .01 since thats what I'm reading everywhere, or just ditched such a general keyword. I really wanted to to keep tweaking this campaign, which is why I kept going at spending $15 in it, but it wasn't going anywhere... and I sent something like 500 clicks and 5 conversions, it seemed like me getting lucky. Now I ran a iPhone 4s free offer last night, rotating 3 offers. I made the ad copy something like, click this link only if you want to sign up for free iPhone because I wanted to weed people out that wouldn't complete it. I sent 140 clicks to it since last night, and no conversions at all. I am bidding on keywords like, mobile, iphone, all the different variations of the iphone versions, things like cell phones, i added some phone companies, added negative keywords like unlock, apps, to weed out iphone traffic. It seems to be working against mobile traffic because I'm getting all computer clicks. I'm getting a lot of traffic from blendersearch.com, I looked at it and it looks like some kind of search engine, but I can't tell if its spam or something.. like who would use that website? Anyway, I'm bidding at .05 and I'm just plowing through money, seems like a waste since I haven't converted at 140 clicks, so I might pause it. I think I'll actually lower the keyword cost and see what happens. Next up, I'm going to do a dating campaign on there because I have read that it converts on that network. I think I will start with a lower bid price, about .03 because I still want to get traffic. I'm going to be promoting an offer for one of those hookup sites, not sure on the ad copy I'm going to do, still thinking about it. Will post updates in a few hours. I have snow here.. so I'm staying in all day working on this. ![]() Add me on skype to chat about this stuff, it says I'm offline, but I'm not. |

I can see your error already. Here's a hint, if you're seeking penny clicks, don't bid a nickel. This is where your mindset and strategy is off when it comes to 7search. You're not alone though, everyone I've seen and helped with 7search starts this way. ![]() PPC is not about getting traffic, it's about getting converting traffic. I'll take 5 clicks a day if 2 convert profitably versus 1,000 clicks per day with 1 conversion. It's a totally different ballgame and while I admire that you are taking action and trying to document your progress, your strategy is off. |

Right, I agree with you. I remember your post in my last thread and you had said that people are trying to approach 7search with the adwords mindset. I'm assuming you were referring to start bid high, then lower it over time. Actually per your advice in the last thread, I am applying it right now to a new biz opp campaign. I've just added about 150 keywords, continuing to build this list after I finish this post, I want to try to reach at least 300-400 keywords bidding at .01. The last niche I was trying for with the iPad/iPhone stuff, there just wasn't enough keywords/I couldn't think of anymore. I will go back to that though and try to make it work. My ad is something along the lines of.. could you use an extra xxx money.. ? Then it says something along the lines of, join me and increase your bank account. Added a bunch of different variations of make money online. I assumed you knew what you are talking about so I am trying it out. You are right referring the few keywords that convert. I'm just sending way too much traffic... I think I might start tracking my keywords through 7search as well because I talked to a guy @ 7search and he told me to do it because he wants to see what is converting and what isn't so I think I'll do it. I also didn't realize how huge the make money online niche is. So many keyword variations.. I had trouble getting maybe 50-100 variations of the iPad/iPhone stuff. A lot more here. I have a couple of other niches that are supposively big that I will build later today.. Thanks for the info Coach, I'll see how this strolls.

Update on progress.. I just spent a little while building a list of different variations of "make money online". I managed to get about 700 keywords so far, I'm goign to continue and hit the 1k mark. I might call 7search on Monday when they are open for them to let me get that list higher. I haven't gotten any traffic yet, so I can see why that PPC expert dude said you need 14-15k lists. Jeeeeez. lol. Rest of the day, I'm going to finish this list, go out for a walk and get exercise, then I'm going to do 2 or 3 more campaigns. Haven't decided on exact niches, I'm think I'm going to do a hookup/dating type thing, maybe run both of them so I can get more niche specific campaigns for both of them, education type, online gaming type thing, and possible insurance (worried about CPC on these/not getting any traffic).

Okay so good news I managed to get 2 conversions on my iPhone offers and I am just about even. (I spent a little more on ads than receiving money). I have restarted my iPad offer, and lowered all my offers to .01 clicks. I am planning on leaving them there for three days and if I see no improvement in clicks, I will bring them up a penny each for another three days, etc. In the mean time, I will keep building more campaigns starting with .01 each and keep doing that. I keep reading about people saying... leave it at .01 and see hwere it goes. In the two conversions I had, I was paying clicks at .03 each, but I had all ready plowed through a lot of money at .05 cents a click. Currently, I'm working on a dating type campaign (Find hot singles yo! lol). I am going to try to approach this one a little differently, and then approach it with keywords like find matches, singles, whatever whatever. |

Wow.. so apparently I reached the limit of 1k keywords for my account. I didn't realize that it was 1k total across the account, I thought it was per campaign. Wow. So I'm going to go through my biz opp offer and try to delete some stuff to make room... Jeeeeez.

Don't always go for the cheapest.. personally I'd rather pay 0.10 for a keyword that converts 1/10 times, then a keyword that costs me 0.01 and converts 1/500 times.. you need to balance quality and quantity... Good journal though, please keep it up!! |

Update to the journal.. since I maxed out my 7search keywords, I decided I'm just going to wait until monday and call 7search and tell them to increase it. All my keywords are relevant and I made sure of it, so I don't think they will have an issue with it. Regarding the CPC, I may increase it tomorrow because I still haven't gotten traffic and I really don't feel like waiting for 3 days for no traffic because I want to start running traffic. My dating campaign has gotten me 3 1cent clicks, but that was over 3 hours, so one click an hour? That's pretty slow.. I'll see how it is when I wake up tomorrow and probably increase them all by .01. In other news, I started copying my campaigns and bringing them to another ppc provider that will remain nameless for now.. however, I hope to be getting similar click prices.. we shall see. I'm going to be open abuot the campaigns and keywords I'm running because I'm trying to learn and hopefully other people can learn.

They will quickly ramp up your keyword limit to 5k, I asked for this and within 5 minutes I was adding hundreds more keywords. And you're right, the company has good customer service, just hope it stays this way. There is a huge migration to 7search right now, because of the publicity from super affiliates.. |
