Hi, I'm new here, and I wanted to ask some advice. I'm in the process of setting up an online store (using Magento ecommerce + google checkout) where I'll be selling original art prints by two photographers (this will be the only place where you can get them). To increase the revenue I thought of adding an affiliate plugin, and have a cut at 10% which at the basic level would be £30. Probably going up to £250 for a more expensive print, and if all goes well it could be as much as £1k. (That's all 10%, with an incentive of an increase if someone's selling well) My question is, do you think this would work? The set up? Should I sign up with a CPS or try and find someone directly interested in promoting the products? Thanks for the help! |

yea, why not if you can grow big. I started my IM journey by owning a photography blog. My hobby is taking photographs. There are many ways you can make money off it, not only selling prints or photographs. |

To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure how effective getting traffic via CPA would be for you in that niche. I would probably go with a traditional CPS affiliate program and put the commission at the percentage you had in mind. The CPA route I would imagine will be really tough for you

I agree with Kenster, I think you really want to do a CPS model.. it would make more sense than a CPA model if your case.. You could always try to connect with a network like commission junction, they will help you with much of the setup |

Oops, I meant a CPS and people getting a cut of what they sell, my mistake was mixing the acronyms, sorry Thanks for the input though, I'll check out commission junction, is that the best CPS out there? I'm kind of terrified of the amount affiliate programs take for themselves, I remember seeing someone taking 7.5% +$1, which kind of looks steep when at the start I'm only prepared to offer 10% to the actual affiliate.. and Jordan, could you possibly elaborate on some other ways of making money off photography? |

CJ is one of the bigger guys out there. And yes it can be expensive...some require large cash deposits as well. At the end of the day, look at your model and see if it works. The CPS model is not right for everything! Worth a good look though |
