My HUGE mistake with CPV/PPV - Always double check your scraping results

I'm going to share a story with everyone and hope that everyone learns from it.. it was a foolish mistake that costed me a fair bit..

So for CPV/PPV campaigns, for the most part I allow scrapers to do lots of the work for me, I sometimes do pull manual results, but I like to use scrapers, then weed through the results.. there was a time when I wasn't as careful and just scraped and didn't check too well..

One day on a new campaign, I did what I always did, scraped a few hundred URL's to test an offer.. as soon as the campaign went live, within seconds, I had hit my budget.. it looks like I wasn't very careful and somehow ended up with "http" was a url..

Luckily my budget wasn't too high, but I did lose a fair bit in that small amount of time, I even ended up going over budget by about 4x..

Moral of the story is even if you are using all these great tools, at least double check them, they aren't perfect and are no match to the human eye

That's pretty painful, I've also been a bit of a dope in the past and had facebook.com and apple.com as pages.

Needless to say my ROI on those were pretty shocking and some tears were shed.

I've had facebook.com and apple.com as a targets and made money from it

it wasn't an accident too.. but very very risky..
