Default Banner Ad Question

Hi,

I'm new to banner ads I have a couple of questions.

1. When blog or forum owners offer monthly packages for displaying banners vs cost per thousand impressions vs cost per click. Which is generally better? I know it depends on specific numbers etc.

2. Also, after the banner is designed, does it automatically have my URL embedded in it so that when I send it off to a site owner and after he puts it up on his site, the visitors will end up on my site after clicking the banner? I just had my designed and I received a banner in both jpg and png format. Should I also receive a code for the banner?

Thanks

1 - it would depend on the prices and how good of an ad/banner you can write/design.. if you can get a good ctr, then cpm would probably work better.. but if you are just starting off cpc is probably the way to go (if you have a choice)

2 - you would need to provide the owner the url as well

I would not try banners unless you know what you are doing. The bannres that do the best are often flash, and you need to have complex tracking and idea of site by site optimization.

I just ad banners on my sites

You must download your banner to your hosting account and than make it clickable to the site you want it to go. It is the same what I do with some picture I add on my sites.

I hope you have your own hosting.

Are you new in online marketing? When yes, watch out or it will be very expensive. I personally work everything generic to my site, included traffic.
