Hi, I've got a tech blog and my AdSense CTR hovers at about 1%. No matter what changes I seem to make (locations, ad types, etc. over the course of time, naturally) it still stays at ~1%. I was wondering if this is "average" for the technology/computer niche. I feel like I'm spinning my wheels trying to do better for what may be diminishing returns. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks! |

The adsense CTR is going to be low for that niche because it targets people that are computer savvy and don't usually click on ads. Since you've already tried optimizing your ad placement, I would personally move on to another niche if you want to earn from adsense. Couponing, home improvement, or any niche that targets stay at home mom's gets really high CTR's for me (~8-12%). As for your tech blog, you should try to monetize it with something other than adsense, like targeted CPA offers (or your could try Amazon, Clickbank, etc.)
